Assistant Manager-Clearing & Forwarding

Job Description Roles & Responsibilities Identify customers and promote sales in order to further contribute to company revenues Develop and implement strategies to enter new markets and sectors Provide the business with market insights on government and regulatory policy as it affects impor-tation or exportation Ensuring the safe and successful execution of Customs Clearing and Freight Forwarding activities in accordance with the customs clearance and freight forwarding strategy to meet and achieve de-fined Key Performance Indicators Compliance with Customs, Municipality and Government regulations/formalities/payments/import permits Maintain shipment tracking reports and have full control on IN & OUT shipments Responsible for providing quotations to customers and liaising with the shipping company on all issues with consignment Liaise closely and build strategic relationships with client stakeholders Negotiate favorable rates with shipping lines, airlines, transporters and network agents Allocate and manage staff resources according to changing needs Continually try to improve and develop business performance within the constraints of legislation, fuel costs and rising environmental pressures. Manage staff training issues within the department Work on new supply strategies To ensure that all activities are carried out in accordance with the company’s Quality, Health, Safety & Environment (QHSE) and Ethics & Compliance policies Perform any other duties as requested by GM – Warehous & Logistics Desired Candidate Profile 7-15 years of experience in Clearing & Forwarding in the UAE, GCC Need to have background in various fields such as Sales, Customer service, Operations, Documenta-tion, Customs clearance etc. Experienced in air freight, sea freight(LCL/FCL), Heavy lift operations, port operations, NVOCC oper-ations and liner activities Knowledge in Dubai Municipality food import/export regulations/ free zones/UAE border proce-dures Must have appropriate knowledge of inspection agents, banks, shipping companies and terminals Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills Experienced in handling medium sized Logistics Team Experienced in 3rd Party Logistics operations Employment Type Full-time Company Industry ShippingFreight Department / Functional Area LogisticsSupply Chain Keywords Freight ManagerInternational Freight SpecialistFreight Forwarding Get real-time job updates only on our App
