API Engineer

Job Description Roles & Responsibilities Design, build, and operate scalable DevOps platforms using Java, Spring Boot, and cloud-native technologies Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines, automation workflows, and reusable frameworks Deploy and manage workloads on AWS (EKS, Lambda) and Kubernetes Ensure code quality, security, and efficient artifact management (Git, Nexus) Design and govern enterprise APIs (REST standards, versioning, lifecycle management) Define API standards, reusable patterns, and best practices Manage API gateways, security (OAuth2, JWT), and traffic control Drive API documentation and enable discoverability via developer portals Implement monitoring and observability (AppDynamics, ELK) Ensure high availability, performance, and resilience Lead incident management, RCA, and continuous improvement Own end-to-end DevOps and API platform lifecycle Define architecture standards and lead design decisions Drive platform strategy, roadmap, and cloud-native adoption Ensure alignment with enterprise and regulatory frameworks (example- UAE Central Bank) Enforce IAM, security controls, auditability, and data protection Provide technical leadership and mentor engineering teams Influence cross-functional stakeholders and drive engineering excellence Promote innovation, automation, and continuous improvement Desired Candidate Profile Bachelor s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). Master s degree is an advantage. 10+ years in software engineering with strong focus on DevOps, API platforms, cloud, and automation. End-to-end SDLC ownership with DevOps and CI/CD expertise. Experience in Open Banking or regulated financial services. Deep hands-on expertise in AWS (Lambda, EKS, cloud-native services). Strong experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and container orchestration. Extensive CI/CD experience using GitLab, Nexus, and enterprise toolchains. Proven experience designing and operating DevOps and API platforms at scale. Proven delivery of secure, production-grade DevOps and API solutions. Strong experience with infrastructure automation and pipelines, understanding of IAM, secrets management, encryption, and secure configurations. Hands-on experience implementing DevSecOps and shift-left security and remediating security vulnerabilities across apps and pipelines. Deep Proficiency in Python or similar scripting languages and Node.js is preferred. Experience with continuous monitoring and observability. Proficiency with architecture tools such as Visio, Draw io, or equivalent.
