Overview

webook is building the region's go-to marketplace for live events and we're looking for the commercial leader who will shape how we grow. As Trade Director, you'll build the trading function from a blank page: the strategy, the team, the frameworks, and the results. You'll own the P&L, set the commercial tempo for the business, and have a direct line to the CCO. If you've done this before and want to do it bigger this is that role. Key Responsibilities Own the e-commerce trading calendar planning, prioritising, and executing revenue-generating activity across the webook.com events marketplace. Set and manage commercial KPIs: revenue, conversion rate, AOV, promotional ROI, inventory sell-through, and repeat purchase rate. Build webook.com pricing and promotions framework, defining how discounts, bundles, and incentive structures are applied and evaluated. Lead the Trading Team recruiting, onboarding, and developing three direct reports. Partner with Marketing to align trading activity with acquisition campaigns and seasonal moments. Work with Product to surface commercial requirements for the platform roadmap. Collaborate with Operations to translate supply landscape into executable trading plans. Report trading performance to the CCO weekly and monthly with clear analysis and recommendations. Establish a test-and-learn culture with structured A/B testing across offers, pricing, and merchandising. Experience 8+ years of experience in ecommerce trading, merchandising, or commercial management, with at least 3 years in a senior or leadership role. Proven track record of owning and growing a trading P&L within a marketplace, retail, or ticketing/events platform. Experience building and scaling a trading or commercial function, including hiring and developing teams. Background working in fast-paced, high-growth environments with cross-functional accountability. Prior exposure to the events, ticketing, or live entertainment sector is a strong advantage. Skills & Capabilities Strong commercial acumen with deep understanding of pricing strategy, promotional mechanics, and margin management. Data-driven mindset: confident interpreting performance data, building dashboards, and translating insights into trading decisions. Experience designing and running A/B tests and structured experiments to optimise conversion, AOV, and promotional ROI. Ability to build and maintain a dynamic trading calendar aligned with marketing campaigns and seasonal demand patterns. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills able to present performance and strategy clearly to senior leadership. Proficiency with analytics and trading tools (e.g. Google Analytics, Tableau, Excel/Sheets, or similar BI platforms). Leadership Demonstrated ability to recruit, onboard, and develop high-performing commercial teams. Comfortable operating in ambiguity and building structure from scratch in a scale-up environment. A collaborative leader who can influence without authority across Marketing, Product, and Operations. Entrepreneurial mindset with a bias for action and a focus on measurable outcomes.
