Technical Engineer - Construction

Our client, a leading engineering and construction company, based in Saudi Arabia and specializing in structural and construction solutions, is looking to hire a Technical Engineer specialized in construction to join their team in Riyadh. Responsibilities Design and propose practical technical approaches for specialized construction, rehabilitation, structural repair, strengthening, and related projects. Explore and assess emerging construction methods, materials, systems, and technologies that could support the company s growth and open up new business opportunities. Produce technical offers, method statements, material submittals, and presentations for clients and consultants. Develop detailed project costing, including materials, manpower, unit rates, and overall cost estimates, and review existing cost calculations when required. Assist with tender preparation by identifying solutions that are both technically viable and commercially competitive. Engage with clients, consultants, and suppliers to present proposed solutions, address technical queries, build strong relationships, and discuss pricing and commercial considerations. Work closely with site teams to resolve technical issues and identify more effective construction approaches. Assist in introducing new specialized contracting services and identifying potential areas for business development.

Desired Candidate Profile

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is a must. Strong engineering and technical capabilities, with the ability to approach complex challenges creatively and develop effective solutions. At least 6 years of experience within construction or technical engineering; a background in specialized contracting is highly desirable. Proven experience in preparing project estimates, cost calculations, and detailed cost breakdowns. Good understanding of contemporary construction materials, structural repair and strengthening techniques, and specialized construction methods. Previous involvement in developing new construction solutions, services, or specialized contracting activities is highly preferred. A Master's degree in Business, Management, or a related discipline would be an added advantage alongside the engineering qualification. Excellent interpersonal and presentation abilities, with the professionalism and credibility to establish relationships and effectively communicate technical solutions to clients and consultants. Strong commercial understanding, with the ability to confidently discuss pricing, alternative solutions, and overall value with clients and suppliers. Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and other relevant engineering software.
