Senior MVS/CICS Systems Administrator

Job Description

We are seeking a Senior MVS/CICS Systems Programmer and Administrator with 10+ years of experience to manage mission-critical IBM mainframe environments. Key responsibilities include z/OS systems administration, CICS transaction support, and batch operations management.

Job Responsibilities

z/OS & Subsystem Management: Administer MVS/z/OS environments, JES2/JES3, WLM, and Parallel Sysplex/Coupling Facility; support CICS, DB2, IMS/IDMS, and MQ subsystems.

Batch Operations & Scheduling: Oversee complex batch execution, abend resolution, job restarts, and SFTP/Connect:Direct file transfers using Control-M, CA-7, and Stonebranch UAC.

Security & Integration: Manage RACF user/dataset access profiles, SSL/TLS certificates, and Unix/NAS system integration.

Diagnostics & Tuning: Perform dump analysis (IPCS, SVC dumps) and performance tuning using OMEGAMON, MainView, and SMF/RMF metrics.

Code Promotion: Support RTC and SCLM-based code promotion workflows and SMP/E maintenance.

Qualifications & Skills

experience hands-on IBM mainframe and z/OS experience across financial, insurance, or utility workloads.

Deep proficiency in JCL, REXX, COBOL, Assembler, and SAS.

Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking, storage (DASD, DFSMS), and debugging tools.
