Senior Electrical Engineer – Technical & Engineering

We are looking for an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to support our engineering and project teams. The role will focus mainly on Engineering & Technical Activities, including electrical drawing review, material review & submittals, quantity take-offs, engineering calculations, technical evaluations, procurement support, and coordination with the project teams. Key Responsibilities Review electrical drawings, specifications, BOQs, schedules, and other project documents for accuracy, compliance, and coordination. Review and coordinate shop drawings, design drawings, single-line diagrams, layouts, cable schedules, panel schedules, and as-built drawings. Prepare and review electrical engineering calculations, including load, cable sizing, voltage drop, short-circuit, lighting, and equipment sizing calculations. Prepare and review material submittals, technical datasheets, catalogues, samples, and compliance documents. Evaluate proposed electrical materials and equipment against project specifications, approved drawings, and applicable standards. Prepare quantity take-offs from drawings and BOQs and verify quantities for procurement, estimation, and project requirements. Assist procurement and commercial teams with material specifications, technical comparisons, supplier quotations, and technical evaluations. Review RFIs, technical queries, method statements, inspection documents, and other engineering submissions as required. Identify design discrepancies, technical issues, clashes, and material/quantity requirements and recommend practical solutions. Coordinate electrical requirements with architectural, civil, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and other disciplines. Provide technical support to project managers, site engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, and suppliers. Assist with variations, technical changes, and additional works by providing engineering input and quantity information. Maintain proper records of technical submissions, approvals, revisions, calculations, and engineering documents. Provide guidance and technical support to junior engineers and drafting staff. Ensure engineering activities comply with project specifications, applicable codes and standards, quality requirements, and local authority requirements.

Desired Candidate Profile

Required Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering. Minimum 8 years of relevant electrical engineering experience, preferably within MEP/building construction projects. Strong experience in electrical engineering, technical support, design coordination, and project execution. Good knowledge of electrical systems, power distribution, lighting, small power, earthing, lightning protection, and associated electrical equipment and materials. Proficient in reviewing and interpreting electrical drawings, schematics, specifications, BOQs, shop drawings, and coordinated MEP layouts. Experience in preparing and reviewing material submittals, quantity take-offs, technical evaluations, engineering calculations, and method statements. Ability to identify design and site discrepancies and provide practical engineering solutions in coordination with project and site teams. Good knowledge of international standards, project specifications, and UAE/local authority requirements. Proficient in AutoCAD; knowledge of ETAP, DIALux, Revit/BIM, or similar engineering software is an advantage. Ability to coordinate electrical works with architectural, structural, mechanical, ELV, and other disciplines, as well as consultants, contractors, and suppliers. Experience supporting testing, commissioning, inspection, handover, and as-built documentation of electrical systems. Strong analytical, technical, problem-solving, communication, and coordination skills. Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver technical support within project schedules and deadlines. Experience in residential, commercial, hospitality, or large-scale building projects is preferred. UAE project experience and familiarity with local construction practices and authority approval processes are preferred. Employment Type Full-time
