SAP Production Planning (PP) Solution Architect / Functional Lead (SAP PP, ATP, SAP MM)

Position Summary We are seeking an experienced SAP Production Planning (PP) Functional Lead/Solution Architect with deep expertise in SAP S/4HANA Production Planning, Advanced Available-to-Promise (aATP), and SAP Materials Management (MM). The ideal candidate will lead the design, implementation, and optimization of end-to-end planning and manufacturing processes, ensuring seamless integration across procurement, manufacturing, inventory, and order fulfillment. This role requires profound business process knowledge, exceptional stakeholder management skills, and a proven track record of delivering large-scale SAP S/4HANA manufacturing solutions.

Key Responsibilities

SAP Production Planning (PP)

Design, configure, and implement comprehensive SAP Production Planning solutions.

Configure and support master data and transactional objects, including:

Material Master, Bill of Materials (BOM), Routings, Production Versions, and Work Centers.

Production Orders, Process Orders, and Repetitive Manufacturing.

Configure and optimize MRP Live and Classic MRP.

Support Demand Management and Long-Term Planning.

Optimize production scheduling and capacity planning.

Support Engineering Change Management (ECM).

Drive manufacturing efficiency by leveraging SAP best practices.

ATP / Advanced ATP (aATP)

Configure and optimize SAP ATP/aATP functionalities to enhance order fulfillment.

Design and implement key aATP components, including

Product Availability Check.

Alternative-Based Confirmation (ABC).

Backorder Processing (BOP).

Product Allocation (PAL).

Release for Delivery.

Improve order confirmation accuracy and customer delivery commitments.

Partner with Sales, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing teams to resolve fulfillment bottlenecks.

SAP Materials Management (MM)

Configure and support core MM processes, including

Procurement and Purchasing.

Inventory Management (Goods Receipt, Goods Issue, Stock Transfers).

Physical Inventory and Material Valuation.

Vendor Master Data.

Optimize inventory levels and material availability.

Collaborate with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure seamless material flow.

Integration Responsibilities

Architect and support end-to-end integration between SAP PP and the following modules/systems:

SAP Ecosystem: SAP MM, SD, EWM, WM, QM, PM, TM, and IBP.

External Systems: Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).

Middleware & Interfaces: SAP BTP Integration Suite, SAP PI/PO, APIs, IDocs, and OData services.

Business Process Improvement

Analyze current manufacturing processes and recommend SAP best practices.

Enhance production planning accuracy and reduce manufacturing cycle times.

Optimize inventory management and material flow.

Champion Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.

Identify and implement process automation opportunities.

Project Responsibilities

Lead SAP S/4HANA implementation and transformation projects from blueprint to go-live.

Conduct business process workshops to gather and document business requirements.

Prepare Functional Specifications and review Technical Specifications.

Support all testing phases, including

Unit Testing.

System Integration Testing (SIT).

User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

Execute cutover planning and manage go-live activities.

Provide Hypercare and ongoing Production Support.

SAP Functional Expertise

SAP S/4HANA Production Planning (PP).

Capacity Planning, Demand Management, and Production Scheduling.

Integration Knowledge

Proven experience integrating SAP PP with

SAP SD, MM, EWM, WM, QM, PM, TM, and IBP.

SAP BTP Integration Suite and SAP PI/PO.

APIs, IDocs, and OData services.

Required Experience

20+ years of overall SAP experience, with a strong focus on SAP PP and MM.

3+ full lifecycle SAP implementations (S/4HANA preferred), including all phases (Blueprint, Configuration, Testing, Go-Live, and Support).
