Quantity Surveyor (QS) Engineer

The Quantity Surveyor (QS) Engineer is responsible for managing all cost-related aspects of construction projects, ensuring financial efficiency while maintaining quality and contractual compliance. The role includes quantity take-offs, cost estimation, budgeting, contract administration, valuation of work, and preparation of payment applications, variations, and final accounts. Key Responsibilities Prepare quantity take-offs from drawings, specifications, and project documents. Estimate project costs and assist in preparing budgets and tender submissions. Measure and value completed work for progress payments. Prepare and submit interim payment applications to clients. Review and certify subcontractor payment applications. Prepare, evaluate, and negotiate variation orders (VOs) and claims. Monitor project costs and identify cost-saving opportunities. Maintain records of quantities, costs, variations, and contractual correspondence. Assist in preparing Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and tender documentation. Review contracts to ensure compliance with commercial and contractual obligations. Coordinate with project engineers, procurement teams, and site personnel regarding quantities and material requirements. Track project progress against budgets and prepare cost reports. Participate in project meetings to provide commercial updates. Assist in preparing final accounts and project closeout documentation. Ensure compliance with company procedures, contractual requirements, and industry standards.

Desired Candidate Profile

Bachelor s degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline. Professional certification (e.g., MRICS, AIQS, or equivalent) is an advantage. 3+ years of experience in quantity surveying, cost control, or commercial management within construction or MEP projects.
