Planning Engineer
Job Description Roles & Responsibilities Develop, review, and update planning, scheduling, and reporting procedures in coordination with other departments and divisions. Conduct training sessions for project teams whenever new systems, procedures, or processes are introduced or existing ones are revised. Implement new planning systems and processes to meet internal business requirements and external/client requirements. Provide planning and scheduling inputs during client prequalification processes. Prepare and review Level-3 tender programmes, including cash flow forecasts and construction methodologies, where required. Develop project schedules, cash flow forecasts, and construction methodologies for divisions, as required. Provide schedule- and cost-related inputs to risk registers during the tendering stage. Prepare and review construction methodologies in coordination with the Project Manager (PM), Construction Manager (CM), Project Controls Manager (PCM), and Project Lead Engineer (PLE). Review baseline programmes, including resource and cost loading, ensuring alignment with the approved construction methodology. Review labour histograms to ensure consistency with baseline and target schedules. Review equipment and plant deployment schedules in line with baseline and target programmes. Review project S-curves and cash-in forecasts to monitor progress against baseline and target schedules. Assess project delays and support the preparation and review of Extension of Time (EOT) claims in coordination with the PM and PLE. Develop and monitor the company's overall target programme. Prepare Target vs. Turnover reports and other corporate planning reports as required. Attend client, consultant, and project coordination meetings to provide planning and scheduling support. Review internal audit findings and implement corrective actions related to planning and project controls. Support the Contracts Administration team with time- and cost-related claims and contractual planning matters. Perform additional planning and project control duties in line with the objectives of the Project Planning & Management Department. Assist the Senior Project Lead Engineer (Sr. PLE) and management with any other planning-related tasks as assigned. Desired Candidate Profile Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. 7+ years of experience in project planning and scheduling within the construction or engineering sectors is preferred. Proficiency in project management software such as Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar tools is a must. Certification as a Planning Engineer (e.g., PMI-SP or equivalent) is a strong advantage. Experience in large-scale infrastructure projects or major construction projects is highly desirable. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams are critical. Detail-oriented personality with a proactive approach to problem-solving is highly valued.
