HSE Engineer

Job Description Roles & Responsibilities Manage overall HSE activities for civil infrastructure, wet utilities, and substation projects. Ensure site activities comply with UAE HSE regulations, client requirements, DEWA standards, and company HSE policies. Conduct regular site inspections and identify unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, and potential hazards. Prepare and implement HSE plans, risk assessments, method statements, JSA, and emergency response procedures. Monitor HSE compliance for excavation, trenching, shoring, pipeline works, lifting, concreting, and substation civil works. Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, training, and regular safety awareness programmes for site personnel. Monitor critical activities including excavation, confined spaces, lifting operations, work at height, temporary works, and heavy equipment operations. Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions and recommend corrective actions. Maintain HSE records, inspection reports, incident reports, permits, and other required documentation. Coordinate with clients, consultants, DEWA, project teams, subcontractors, and authorities on HSE matters. Monitor subcontractor HSE performance and ensure timely closure of observations and corrective actions. Support internal and external HSE audits and drive continuous improvement in site safety standards and practices. Desired Candidate Profile 4+ years of relevant UAE experience in HSE, preferably in civil infrastructure, wet utilities, and substation projects. Strong hands-on experience in excavation, trenching, pipeline works, lifting, confined spaces, heavy equipment, and substation civil activities. NEBOSH/IOSH certification preferred, with good knowledge of UAE HSE regulations, DEWA requirements, risk assessments, PTW, incident investigation, and site safety management.
