Job Description Roles & Responsibilities Job Overview A leading industrial ecosystem in the UAE is seeking an experienced Head of Business Development to drive revenue growth, tenant acquisition and market expansion. The role combines strategic commercial leadership with practical knowledge of metal fabrication, industrial leasing and storage operations. The successful candidate will identify, structure, negotiate and close commercially viable opportunities aligned with the organisation’s industrial ecosystem strategy. Strong knowledge of metal fabrication processes—including cutting, bending, welding, galvanising, surface treatment and storage logistics—is essential for assessing prospective tenants and developing suitable commercial solutions. Role Purpose Drive revenue growth, tenant acquisition and market expansion by identifying, structuring and closing commercially viable opportunities aligned with the organisation’s industrial ecosystem and long-term growth strategy. Key Accountabilities 1. Business Development Strategy Define and execute the business-development strategy in line with revenue, occupancy and market-growth targets. Identify priority market segments, prospective tenants, industrial clients and strategic partners. Develop market-entry and customer-acquisition plans for the UAE and regional markets. Identify new revenue opportunities through industrial leasing, value-added services, shared facilities and strategic partnerships. Conduct market research, competitor analysis and commercial opportunity assessments. 2. Deal Structuring and Execution Lead the commercial structuring, negotiation and closure of tenancy agreements, service agreements and partnership arrangements. Develop commercially viable proposals based on customer requirements, infrastructure capacity and internal commercial guidelines. Negotiate pricing, contract terms, service scope and commercial conditions. Prepare commercial feasibility studies and support the evaluation of investment returns. Ensure opportunities progress efficiently from initial engagement through commercial closure. 3. Tenant and Client Acquisition Identify and acquire high-value tenants and clients from the metal fabrication, steel, galvanising, manufacturing and industrial-storage sectors. Build strategic relationships with fabricators, contractors, steel traders, manufacturers, industrial investors and storage operators. Lead customer-acquisition campaigns and business-development engagements. Represent the organisation at exhibitions, trade missions, industry forums and networking events. Maintain consistent engagement with prospective clients throughout the sales and negotiation cycle. 4. Technical and Industry Engagement Demonstrate strong understanding of industrial workflows, including laser cutting, press braking, welding, galvanising, surface finishing and storage logistics. Assess the technical and operational suitability of prospective tenants and proposed industrial activities. Evaluate the compatibility of incoming activities with available infrastructure, utilities and facility capacity. Engage with contractors, manufacturers and industrial operators to communicate the organisation’s ecosystem advantages. Coordinate technical clarifications with relevant internal departments before commercial commitments are finalised. 5. Cross-Functional Coordination Work closely with Relationship Management, Logistics, Processing, Legal and Finance teams to support tenant onboarding and delivery readiness. Ensure commercial terms are properly communicated to the relevant internal stakeholders. Coordinate internal reviews of pricing, technical requirements, legal conditions and operational feasibility. Support Relationship Management during the onboarding and commercial handover process. Ensure a clear handover from business development to the responsible post-sale and operational teams. 6. Pipeline and Performance Management Build and manage a structured business-development pipeline. Maintain accurate opportunity records, deal stages, expected revenue and closure timelines. Prepare revenue forecasts, pipeline reports and risk assessments for management. Monitor conversion rates, lead quality, pipeline movement and deal-cycle performance. Track actual performance against agreed revenue and occupancy targets. Use CRM, ERP, business-intelligence tools and digital platforms to support reporting and decision-making. 7. Partnership and Ecosystem Development Develop relationships with industrial authorities, free-zone entities, regulatory stakeholders and trade associations. Establish alliances with fabrication companies, galvanising units, storage operators and strategic service providers. Identify opportunities for cross-selling and collaboration across the industrial ecosystem. Support the development of partnerships that contribute to occupancy, revenue and long-term business growth. Key Performance Indicators Performance will be measured against the following principal indicators: Revenue generated. Occupancy rate across production and storage facilities. Lead-to-deal conversion rate. Total qualified pipeline value. Average deal-cycle time. Number and value of tenancy and service agreements closed. Forecast accuracy. New tenant and client acquisition. The Role Supports Relationship Management during tenant onboarding and commercial handover. Marketing through market intelligence, campaign feedback and lead-quality analysis. Internal teams in assessing the commercial and technical suitability of opportunities. Management in feasibility evaluation and strategic business-growth planning. Desired Candidate Profile Qualifications and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration or a related discipline. MBA or postgraduate qualification in Business Development, Strategy or a related field is preferred. Minimum of 10–15 years of business-development experience within metal fabrication, steel, industrial leasing, industrial storage or a related sector. Minimum of 8 years of experience in a leadership role. Proven track record of revenue generation, industrial client acquisition and commercial deal closure. Experience negotiating tenancy agreements, service agreements and industrial contracts. Experience working with industrial project clients, manufacturers, investors and regulatory stakeholders. Candidate Profile The ideal candidate will be a commercially driven and technically knowledgeable business-development leader with the ability to convert industrial opportunities into sustainable revenue. The candidate must be confident in engaging senior stakeholders, understanding industrial requirements, structuring complex commercial arrangements and closing high-value agreements. The role requires a disciplined focus on revenue generation and deal execution while ensuring an effective handover to Relationship Management and operational teams after closure.
