Finance Controller

Work closely with the CFO on financial management, reporting, planning, and analysis. Manage the day-to-day finance and accounting activities. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for review by the CFO. Prepare and review P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, and financial statements. Control and monitor all cash transactions, including cash receipts, payments, petty cash, and cash advances. Ensure all cash transactions are properly approved, supported by documents, and recorded accurately. Conduct regular cash counts and cash reconciliations. Monitor company bank accounts, transfers, payments, and cash balances. Control company assets, including fixed assets, equipment, vehicles, and other company property. Maintain an updated fixed asset register and ensure proper recording of asset additions, transfers, and disposals. Conduct regular physical verification of company assets and investigate missing or damaged assets. Monitor asset usage and ensure company assets are properly protected and controlled. Monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable, collections, and supplier balances. Monitor company cash flow and working capital. Assist the CFO with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning. Monitor actual results against budget and prepare variance analysis. Review costing, margins, expenses, and profitability. Ensure accurate recording of all accounting transactions. Review bank reconciliations and ensure differences are resolved promptly. Coordinate with banks, auditors, tax authorities, suppliers, and other financial institutions as required. Ensure proper documentation and approval of financial transactions. Monitor tax calculations, filings, and compliance. Support the CFO during internal and external audits. Strengthen internal financial controls and identify financial risks. Monitor company expenses and ensure they are within approved budgets. Provide financial analysis and information to support management decisions. Support consolidation of financial information from different companies or business units. Ensure finance policies and procedures are properly followed. Supervise and guide the finance and accounting team.

Desired Candidate Profile

Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. Minimum 5–8 years of relevant finance/accounting experience. Strong experience in financial reporting, cash-flow management, budgeting, and costing. Strong experience in cash control, asset control, and internal financial controls. Good knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting. Experience working with a CFO or within a group of companies is an advantage. Experience dealing with banks, auditors, tax authorities, and suppliers. Strong Excel and ERP/accounting system skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. High attention to detail and accuracy. Good communication and reporting skills. English is required; Portuguese is an advantage. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
