Testing & Commissioning Manager
Job Description Roles & Responsibilities Lead and manage the Testing & Commissioning Department across multiple projects. Develop testing and commissioning strategies, procedures, and project execution plans. Supervise and mentor testing and commissioning engineers and technicians. Prepare and review testing and commissioning schedules aligned with project milestones. Coordinate commissioning activities with project managers, construction teams, consultants, vendors, and clients. Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions to achieve project objectives. Ensure timely completion of testing and commissioning activities and successful project handover. Manage testing and commissioning of: GIS and AIS substations up to EHV levels. Power transformers, reactors, and switchgear. Protection and control systems. SCADA, RTU, communication, and automation systems. Underground cable systems and overhead transmission lines. Auxiliary AC/DC systems and battery chargers. Review and approve testing procedures, method statements, commissioning plans, and technical reports. Ensure compliance with utility standards, IEC, IEEE, and project specifications. Coordinate with equipment manufacturers and specialist vendors during commissioning activities. Lead troubleshooting and fault diagnosis during commissioning and energization. Ensure all testing and commissioning activities comply with quality management systems and project requirements. Review inspection and test plans (ITPs), test reports, and commissioning documentation. Verify completion of punch lists and close-out actions before project handover. Ensure compliance with client, consultant, and regulatory requirements. Desired Candidate Profile Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering. PMP certification is an advantage. Professional Engineering certifications are preferred. Minimum 15 years of experience in Testing & Commissioning of electrical power projects. Minimum 5 years in a managerial or leadership role. Extensive experience in HV, EHV substations, transmission systems, and utility projects. Strong experience with protection relays, SCADA systems, and power system commissioning. Experience working in UAE/GCC utility projects is highly preferred.
