Job Overview
Oversee the planning, execution, and closure of temporary utility projects, ensuring adherence to scope, budget, and timeline. Manage all phases of the project lifecycle, from initial concept and feasibility studies to final commissioning and handover of temporary utility systems. Coordinate with internal teams, external contractors, and regulatory bodies to secure permits, approvals, and necessary resources for project success. Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, identifying critical path activities and proactively mitigating potential delays or risks. Control project costs by monitoring expenditures, managing change orders, and ensuring efficient resource allocation for temporary utility infrastructure. Implement and enforce robust health, safety, and environmental (HSE) protocols throughout all project activities to ensure a safe working environment. Facilitate clear and consistent communication among all project stakeholders, providing regular progress reports and addressing concerns promptly. Manage the procurement and deployment of temporary utility equipment and services, ensuring quality and timely delivery. Conduct thorough risk assessments and develop contingency plans to address unforeseen challenges in utility provision. Ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards, codes, and legal requirements for temporary utility installations and operations.
Desired Candidate Profile
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical) or a related technical field. Professional certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or equivalent are highly desirable. Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive project management experience, specifically within the utilities sector. Proven track record managing temporary utility projects (e.g., power, water, wastewater, telecommunications) for events, construction sites, or emergency response. Strong understanding of temporary power generation, distribution, water supply, and waste management systems. Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera Pand CAD software for utility layouts. Exceptional leadership, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills to effectively manage diverse teams and stakeholders. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities to navigate complex technical challenges and project hurdles. Ability to work under pressure, adapt to changing priorities, and deliver results in fast-paced environments. Strong command of English, with fluency in other relevant languages being an asset.
