Tele‐control / SCS Engineer (for Substation Control System)

Job Description Roles & Responsibilities Ensures daily telecontrol systems operation, equipment maintenance as well as fault detection and repair, as per target Kahramaa performance indicators such as: More than 500 Substation Control Systems (SCS/DCS) in Primary Substations all over Qatar. More than 100 RTUs in Secondary Substations all over Qatar. WAMS system maintenance CMS computer system maintenance UPS System at Control Centers. Battery Chargers. More than 70 NCC & DCC Remote Terminal Units in Primary Substations all over Qatar. More than 150 Telemetry Battery chargers in Primary Substations all over Qatar. Preparation of annual budget requirements for In‐house projects. Prepares spare parts requirements and ordering for In‐house Projects Co‐ordinates project works (GTC, LTC & Bulk Consumers), checks and comments on design and As‐Built drawings, project documentation, reviews spare parts, oversees project commissioning, scope of work Preparation, tender technical evaluation, testing and commissioning of In‐House Projects along with the contractor's team Attending Standby calls from DCC/DGCC/NCC Control during office and out of office hours. Evaluation/Validation of Notification of Safety Precaution (NOSP) documents for GTC/LTC projects before energization of Substations/Circuits Attends KCT ,TOC and FAC Inspection for the commissioned Substation SCS/DCS/RTU/Battery charger/UPS/WAMS System for Defect Clearance and Processing of Hard and soft copies of TOCs/FACs Prepares Telecontrol Annual Maintenance Plans, Daily Activity/Job Instruction for Senior Technician Telecontrol for Routine Maintenance and Fault Attendance in accordance with ISO Requirements Verifies and follows up on Fault reports with Other Departments/Contractor’s prepared during Routine Maintenance and Fault Attendance in accordance with ISO Requirements Assessing/Interviewing Contractor’s SCADA/SCS Engineers for Authorizing for Safety Document, Reviewing Method Statement for Works under Live SCADA/SCS Systems &Issuing LOA’s Performs other related duties as needed upon request by the immediate supervisor and supports other Sections under ENA directorate. Coordinates with Engineer‐System Control / field engineers for testing and trouble‐shooting issues in the telecontrol system equipment and coordinates with Bulk consumers to resolve any telemetry issues. Prepares the list including requirements for telecontrol equipment/ spare parts Assists the Senior Engineer–Telecontrol in the assessment of the quotation of materials ordered and verifies specifications of telecontrol assets delivered Conducts tests on the newly ordered telecontrol equipment to verify their technical specifications Updates and maintains the telecontrol database system with latest information on the work activities conducted including records of the telecontrol equipment/ systems that underwent repair and maintenance Works in cooperation with Quality Assurance and Continual Improvement department on securing and maintaining the ISO 9001 & ISO 27001 certification Carries out and ensures the compliance of all activities within the Telecommunication Section are in‐line with Kahramaa health and safety regulations. Desired Candidate Profile General Requirements: The role holder is responsible for ensuring maintenance and fault rectification for all telecontrol equipment and systems installed in Primary & Secondary Substations. Qualifications & Experience: Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Electronics or Telecommunications Engineering. Experience: More than 7 years of relevant experience in a similar industry of which minimum 3+ years of supervisory experience preferably in the area of telecommunications.
