Job Description Roles & Responsibilities VAS Operations & Support Engineer Location: Doha, Qatar Experience: 3–5 Years Employment Type: Full-Time Job Summary We are looking for a VAS Operations & Support Engineer to manage, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot telecom VAS platforms in a production environment. The role involves incident resolution, preventive maintenance, service monitoring, automation, and coordination with vendors and technical teams. Key Responsibilities Monitor and support telecom VAS platforms and production services. Troubleshoot application, server, database, API, messaging, and connectivity issues. Handle incident, problem, and change management activities. Perform health checks, preventive maintenance, KPI/alarm monitoring, and service verification. Support HA/DR, backup/restore, and service availability activities. Develop automation scripts using Python, Shell/Bash, SQL, or REST APIs. Work with vendors, NOC, IT, Network, Security, and other technical teams. Maintain technical documentation, SOPs, MOPs, and troubleshooting guides. Support after-hours/on-call activities when required. Required Skills 3–5 years of experience in Telecom VAS / Application Operations / Production Support / O&M. Strong hands-on troubleshooting experience. Good knowledge of Linux/Unix, SQL, TCP/IP, REST APIs, JSON/XML. Experience with Python and/or Shell/Bash scripting. Experience in monitoring and incident/problem management. Exposure to SMSC/SMPP, Messaging, eSIM, Device Management, or VAS platforms is preferred. Knowledge of HA/DR, Kubernetes, Cloud, DevOps, or AI/AIOps is an advantage. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Computer/Telecom Engineering, or equivalent. Ideal Candidate A hands-on Telecom VAS / Production Support Engineer with strong troubleshooting and operations experience, who can work across multiple platforms and automate repetitive operational activities. Desired Candidate Profile 3–5 years of experience in Telecom VAS / Production Support / O&M. Strong hands-on experience in VAS platform operations, monitoring, and troubleshooting. Good knowledge of Linux/Unix, SQL, TCP/IP, REST APIs, and scripting. Experience with Python/Shell scripting and operational automation. Exposure to SMSC/SMPP, Messaging, eSIM, Device Management, or similar VAS platforms. Strong incident, problem, change management, and RCA experience. Good communication and coordination skills with NOC, IT, Network, Security, and vendors. Willingness to support on-call/after-hours production incidents. Exposure to Cloud, Kubernetes, DevOps, or AI/AIOps will be an advantage.
