Technical Support & Estimation Engineer

Job Purpose We are looking for a detail-oriented Technical Support & Estimation Engineer to lead the preparation of high-quality techno-commercial proposals for Fire & Life Safety projects. You will act as the vital link between our sales team and our engineering department, ensuring that every project proposal is technically accurate, compliant with UAE Fire & Life Safety Codes, and commercially competitive. Key Responsibilities Techno-Commercial Proposals: Prepare and submit comprehensive technical and commercial bids/quotations, ensuring alignment with client requirements and company profit margins. Engineering Calculations: Perform accurate load calculations, battery backup calculations, cable sizing, and hydraulic calculations (as applicable) for fire protection systems. Technical Compliance: Interpret complex tender documents, drawings, and specifications to ensure proposals meet DCD (Dubai Civil Defence) and NFPA standards. Estimation & BoQ: Review Bills of Quantities (BoQ) and project scope, identifying cost-effective materials and labor requirements for accurate project costing. Technical Support: Serve as the technical point of contact for clients during the pre-sales phase, explaining system solutions, answering technical queries, and attending pre-bid meetings. Collaboration: Coordinate with vendors and procurement teams to obtain competitive material pricing and lead times for bid submissions. Market Intelligence: Stay updated on the latest fire safety products and competitor pricing to ensure our proposals remain market-competitive. Desired Candidate Profile

Education

Bachelor’s degree /Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, or Mechanical Engineering.

Experience

0-2 years of experience in the UAE Fire & Life Safety industry, with a focus on tendering and proposal engineering. Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office (Excel is critical for cost estimation), Plan swift Strong ability to perform technical calculations for fire alarms, suppression systems, and pump sets. In-depth knowledge of UAE Fire & Life Safety Code of Practice and NFPA standards. Commercial Acumen: Proven ability to translate technical specifications into compelling commercial offers.
