Swimming Coach
Job Description Roles & Responsibilities Plan, organize, and conduct swimming lessons and training sessions for students of different age groups and skill levels. Teach fundamental and advanced swimming techniques, water safety, stroke development, and competitive swimming skills. Develop structured lesson plans aligned with the school's physical education curriculum and extracurricular sports program. Assess students' swimming abilities and monitor their progress through regular evaluations. Prepare and coach students for inter-school, district, state, and national swimming competitions. Ensure the safety and well-being of all students by enforcing pool rules, supervising activities, and following emergency response procedures. Maintain discipline and create a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment. Identify and nurture talented swimmers while encouraging participation and confidence among all students. Maintain attendance records, performance reports, and other coaching documentation as required by the school. Coordinate with the Physical Education Department and school administration to organize swimming classes, competitions, and special events. Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and school management regarding students' progress and performance when required. Inspect swimming equipment and facilities regularly, reporting any maintenance or safety concerns promptly. Ensure compliance with school policies, child safeguarding requirements, and all health and safety regulations. Maintain valid First Aid, CPR, and other required coaching certifications and participate in professional development programs. Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, discipline, and healthy lifestyle habits among students. Perform any other duties assigned by the Principal, Head of Physical Education, or school management related to the school's sports and extracurricular programs. Desired Candidate Profile Bachelor's or Master's degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or a related discipline from a recognized institution. Recognized Swimming Coaching Certification from a national or international governing body (preferred). Current First Aid, CPR, and AED certification. Minimum of 2–5 years of experience as a Swimming Coach, preferably in a school or educational institution. Experience in coaching children and adolescents with varying swimming abilities. Strong technical knowledge of swimming strokes, water safety, training methodologies, and competitive swimming. Ability to identify, mentor, and develop talented student-athletes while encouraging participation at all skill levels. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
