Senior Facilities Engineer

Job Description Roles & Responsibilities Senior Facility Engineer – Duties and Responsibilities (Air Base) Facility Operations & Maintenance Manage the day-to-day operation and maintenance of all air base facilities. Ensure all MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) systems are functioning efficiently. Supervise preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance activities. Monitor critical systems such as HVAC, generators, UPS, transformers, air compressors, water systems, and fuel systems. Ensure uninterrupted operation of mission-critical facilities. Team Management Lead and supervise Facility Engineers, Supervisors, Technicians, and subcontractors. Allocate manpower according to operational priorities. Conduct daily toolbox talks and safety briefings. Evaluate staff performance and identify training requirements. Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) Develop and implement annual maintenance plans. Ensure all PPM activities are completed as per schedule. Review maintenance reports and verify work completion. Minimize equipment downtime through effective maintenance planning. Corrective Maintenance Respond immediately to emergency maintenance requests. Investigate equipment failures and identify root causes. Coordinate repairs to minimize operational disruptions. Ensure all maintenance activities comply with OEM recommendations. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Ensure compliance with HSE regulations and air base safety standards. Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments. Monitor Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems. Participate in emergency response drills. Ensure proper use of PPE by all personnel. Asset Management Maintain an accurate asset register. Monitor equipment lifecycle and recommend replacement of obsolete assets. Track warranty periods and service contracts. Ensure calibration of testing equipment. Contract & Vendor Management Monitor subcontractor performance. Review maintenance contracts and service agreements. Verify completed work before approving invoices. Coordinate with suppliers for spare parts and equipment. Budget & Cost Control Prepare maintenance budgets. Monitor operational expenses. Recommend cost-saving initiatives without compromising reliability. Control spare parts inventory. Client Coordination Serve as the primary technical point of contact with the client. Attend coordination meetings. Provide technical advice and engineering solutions. Ensure client complaints are resolved promptly. Reporting Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance reports. Monitor KPIs and SLAs. Submit incident and root cause analysis reports. Maintain maintenance records and documentation. Compliance Ensure compliance with: UAE Civil Defence requirements Local authority regulations Environmental regulations OEM standards Military/Air Base security procedures ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 requirements (where applicable) Engineering Support Review engineering drawings and technical specifications. Evaluate modification requests. Support new facility construction and renovation projects. Conduct site inspections and technical assessments. Emergency Response Act as the engineering focal point during emergencies. Coordinate restoration of critical services. Ensure backup power systems remain operational. Participate in business continuity planning.
