RADIATION THERAPIST

Job Description Roles & Responsibilities Prepares Radiation Therapy treatment planning and provides radiation treatment to patients as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist. Essential Responsibilities and Duties Assists with treatment planning including the use of simulator, Computer Technology (CT) Sim, dose calculations, obtaining contours, and making templates. Assists Senior Mould Room Technologist with making shells and radiation protective device. Prepares treatment room and delivers prescribed radiation treatment. Documents radiation treatment correctly on treatment sheet. Checks treatment prescription, diagnosis, calculations, and patient identification. Checks operation of equipment for proper working and safety including routine safety checks. Reports malfunctioning of equipment or potential safety hazards to seniors. Maintains patient records, reports, and files of treatments. Explains radiation procedure to patients. Collects CPT and statistics in timely manner. Liaises with all sections of department for smooth running of assigned area. Informs the treating Radiation Oncologist of undue condition and reaction. Enhances professional growth and development through continuing education. Experienced rotational radiation therapist. Follows departmental policies in own role and acts as a resource for others. Follows all Hospital related procedures and policies. Participates in self and others education, training and development, as applicable. Performs other related duties, as assigned. Desired Candidate Profile Bachelor s or Associate Degree/Diploma in Radiation Therapy or other related discipline is required. Grade 08: Two (2) years of experience as a Radiation Therapist with Bachelor s or four (4) years with Associate Degree/Diploma is required. Grade 09: Four (4) years of experience as Radiation Therapist at KFSH&RC Average of Annual Performance Appraisal of 4.3 or higher Cumulative Continued Medical Education (CME) hours of 50 or higher Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification is required.
