Quantity Surveyor

Job Description Roles & Responsibilities Prepare detailed cost estimates for steel fabrication and erection works. Perform accurate quantity take-offs from structural drawings and fabrication shop drawings. Evaluate project specifications, drawings, and bills of quantities to prepare competitive bids. Analyze subcontractor and supplier quotations to determine cost-effective options. Monitor project costs, budgets, and expenditure throughout the project lifecycle. Prepare cost reports, cash-flow forecasts, and financial summaries for management. Identify potential cost variations and report financial risks proactively. Prepare and review contractual documents, variation orders, and claims. Ensure compliance with contractual terms, project specifications, and local regulations. Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers to confirm financial and contractual matters. Collaborate closely with engineering, planning, and fabrication teams to ensure alignment with project costs. Conduct site visits to verify progress, validate quantities, and assess variations in actual work. Support procurement in selecting and negotiating with suppliers of steel materials and services. Maintain accurate records of material quantities, production outputs, and cost data. Prepare monthly valuation reports, progress claims, and final account statements. Track material consumption vs. planned quantities to highlight discrepancies. Desired Candidate Profile Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field. Minimum 3–5 years of experience in quantity surveying for steel fabrication or structural steel projects. Strong understanding of steel structures, fabrication processes, and erection methods. Proficient in reading structural and fabrication drawings. Knowledge of QS software (e.g., CostX, Planswift, Candy) is an advantage. Excellent analytical, numerical, and communication skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
