Python Developer - AWS, SQL

Onsite - 2-3 days per week in Reston, VA or 3 days per week in Washington, DC

Employment Type: FTE No Corp to Corp

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes using Python and SQL.

Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects for reporting and analytics.

Perform source-to-target data mappingand execute comprehensive data quality validationto ensure data integrity and consistency.

Work with AWS data services, including AWS Lambda, Amazon Redshift, Apache Iceberg, and Amazon Glacier, to build and support scalable data solutions.

Collaborate with business stakeholders, data analysts, and developers to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

Develop, execute, and maintain test casesfor data validation, ETL processes, and reporting solutions.

Create and maintain technical documentation, including design documents, mapping documents, data dictionaries, and operational procedures.

Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.

Track work items, defects, and enhancements using JIRAand contribute to continuous process improvements.

Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.

Required Qualifications

Strong programming experience in Python.

Advanced proficiency in SQL, including complex query development and performance optimization.

Solid understanding of Business Intelligence (BI) concepts, reporting, and analytics.

Strong knowledge of relational databases and database design principles.

Hands-on experience with AWS services

Strong documentation and technical writing skills.

Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.
