Procurement Specialist
Job Description Roles & Responsibilities Responsible for managing the procurement of technical equipment, materials, and services essential to oilfield operations. The Senior Buyer will source high-quality/complexity products, negotiate contracts, and ensure compliance with industry standards to effectively support engineering and operational teams. This role oversees the entire procurement process, ensuring the timely acquisition of goods and services at competitive prices. JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES (Explain in not more than 8 to 10 points the principal accountabilities that the job must achieve.) Develop and implement effective sourcing strategies to optimize procurement costs and ensure timely supply. Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, price, delivery, and service standards. Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers to secure the best possible deals. Monitor supplier performance and maintain strong relationships to ensure high-quality and consistent supply. Collaborate closely with engineering, operations, and project management teams to understand technical specifications and project requirements. Negotiate prices, terms, and delivery schedules to achieve cost-effective procurement while ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards. Monitor supplier performance, conduct supplier audits, and maintain strong supplier relationships to mitigate risks and ensure supply continuity. Prepare and present procurement reports, cost analysis, and recommendations to management. Support, adhere and promote the QHSE policy of the company, along with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards Perform other related duties as assigned. OPERATING ENVIRONMENT (Specify factors that affect the job /how the job is performed, e.g. special conditions, travel, work pressure etc.) Work is primarily office based with frequent interaction with internal teams including engineering, operations, project management, and finance. Regular communication and negotiation with external suppliers and contractors. Fast-paced and deadline-driven environment, often managing multiple procurement projects simultaneously. Desired Candidate Profile Qualification & Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical or civil). Experience: Minimum 5 years of procurement experience in the oil & gas or Construction sector, with at least 2 years in a senior buyer role. Training & Knowledge: Strong technical understanding of oilfield equipment, materials, and engineering services. Familiarity with procurement software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office.
