Mechanical Engineer (Offshore)-Maintenance & Plant Operations

Our client is an established UAE-based engineering, construction and maintenance organization delivering technical solutions across complex facilities and plant environments. The organization provides integrated engineering, maintenance and project support services, with a strong focus on operational reliability, safety, technical excellence and compliance with international standards and OEM requirements. As part of its ongoing operations, the organization is looking to appoint an experienced Mechanical Engineer to support mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, equipment reliability and project execution. Salary : upto 11K AED + medical + air ticket allowance + Food + Accommodation + Transportation Offshore Work assignment with 5 months on work / 1-month paid leave rotation. Job: Mechanical Engineer The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for supporting the planning, maintenance, troubleshooting and reliable operation of mechanical equipment and associated plant systems. The role will work closely with the Senior Mechanical Engineer and maintenance teams to maximize equipment availability, minimize downtime and ensure preventive and corrective maintenance activities are executed safely and in accordance with OEM recommendations, maintenance procedures and operational requirements. Key Responsibilities Mechanical Maintenance & Equipment Reliability Plan and coordinate preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance activities for mechanical equipment and plant systems. Ensure mechanical maintenance activities are carried out according to OEM manuals, approved maintenance procedures and recommended maintenance intervals. Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities to improve reliability and availability. Troubleshoot mechanical equipment failures, identify defects and implement appropriate corrective actions. Minimize equipment downtime through effective fault diagnosis and timely maintenance intervention. Conduct and support Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for equipment failures and ensure appropriate corrective and preventive actions are implemented. Review existing mechanical maintenance procedures and recommend improvements where required. Mechanical Equipment Provide engineering and maintenance support across equipment including: Pumps Valves Compressors Dryers Rotating equipment Mechanical utility systems HRSG components Desalination plant equipment Heat, gas, water and steam systems Other associated plant mechanical equipment CMMS & Maintenance Planning Ensure maintenance activities are properly planned, scheduled and completed through the CMMS. Monitor open and closed Work Orders and ensure maintenance records remain accurate and up to date. Review and update equipment task lists and preventive maintenance schedules. Identify and address inconsistencies within ERP/CMMS maintenance schedules, documentation and equipment records. Maintain accurate technical documentation relating to mechanical maintenance activities. Emergency & Breakdown Support 24-hour engineering call-out requirements when necessary. Coordinate with plant operations personnel to resolve mechanical equipment problems and breakdowns. Respond effectively to emergency equipment failures and restore equipment availability as quickly and safely as possible. Project Execution Support mechanical maintenance projects, modifications and improvement initiatives. Monitor project activities and prepare regular progress reports. Coordinate with internal teams, contractors and other stakeholders to ensure mechanical works are completed according to agreed specifications, schedules and safety requirements. Assist the Senior Mechanical Engineer with outage planning and execution. Planning & Budgeting Support the Senior Mechanical Engineer in annual maintenance planning and budgeting. Assist in forecasting maintenance requirements, manpower, spare parts, tools and consumables. Review planned and unplanned maintenance activities and identify opportunities to improve cost and operational efficiency. Spare Parts, Consumables & Tools Ensure adequate availability of critical mechanical spare parts and consumables. Raise purchase requisitions for required spares, materials and consumables. Ensure technicians have access to appropriate tools and equipment. Monitor the condition and certification status of maintenance tools. Coordinate required third-party inspection/certification of tools and equipment. Team Supervision & Technical Development Guide and coach Mechanical Technicians on safe working practices, maintenance procedures and operational techniques. Provide technical support and troubleshooting guidance to maintenance personnel. Support technical training covering areas such as alignment techniques, pumps, valves, compressors, dryers and other mechanical equipment. Monitor technician performance and provide feedback to support continuous improvement. HSE & Compliance Ensure all mechanical maintenance activities comply with company QHSE requirements and approved safe working practices. Promote proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Provide technical guidance to employees and contractors to ensure mechanical work is performed safely. Identify potential hazards and ensure appropriate corrective actions are implemented. Reporting & Coordination Report maintenance activities, equipment failures and rectification works to the Senior Mechanical Engineer. Prepare equipment failure and Root Cause Analysis reports. Coordinate closely with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Procurement, Supply Chain and contractors. Maintain accurate maintenance, project and equipment documentation.

Desired Candidate Profile

Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSC) or relevant technical qualification. A Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering would be advantageous. 5–10 years of relevant mechanical maintenance experience within industrial, plant, utilities, facilities, construction or engineering environments. Previous experience working on ADNOC projects is highly preferred. Strong hands-on knowledge of mechanical equipment maintenance and troubleshooting. Experience with pumps, valves, compressors, rotating equipment and mechanical utility systems. Experience with preventive and corrective maintenance planning. Good understanding of CMMS/ERP-based maintenance systems and Work Orders. Experience conducting or supporting Root Cause Analysis (RCA). Knowledge of OEM maintenance recommendations and equipment maintenance schedules. Experience coordinating mechanical technicians and contractors. Understanding of spare parts planning, inventory requirements and maintenance tools. Strong knowledge of HSE requirements and safe maintenance practices. Ability to support breakdowns and emergency maintenance requirements. Strong reporting, communication and problem-solving capabilities. Employment Type Full-time
