Manager - System Operations (Platform Engineering)

Job Summary

The Manager - System Operations (Platform Engineering) will lead a team responsible for designing, implementing, and managing scalable infrastructure. This role involves developing CI/CD pipelines, managing observability tools, and automating resources using Infrastructure as Code. The manager will ensure system availability, security, and compliance, troubleshoot technical issues, and stay updated with industry trends.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation, and management of scalable, secure, and resilient infrastructure across multi-cloud and on-premise environments
• Oversee the development and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines to automate the deployment and scaling of applications and infrastructure
• Implement and manage observability tools to monitor system performance, detect anomalies, and ensure high availability
• Utilize Infrastructure as Code to automate the provisioning and management of resources
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement best practices for system architecture, security, and compliance
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to infrastructure, applications, and services
• Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies to maintain efficient infrastructure
• Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation
• Qualifications/

Experience

Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 5-7 years of experience in platform engineering, system administration, or a related role, with at least 2 years in a leadership position. Experience in managing and delivering projects. Expertise in Cloud Services (AWS and Azure) and on-premise infrastructure management. Experience with CI/CD tools such as Github Actions, GitLab CI, or similar. Proficiency in observability tools like New Relic, Grafana, or similar. Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code, preferably Terraform. Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash for automation and task management. Understanding of system, security, and compliance best practices. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
