Lifting Supervisor-Civil
Job Description Roles & Responsibilities We are looking for an experienced and safety-conscious Lifting Supervisor to oversee day-to-day lifting and rigging operations at the project site. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all lifting activities are carried out safely and efficiently, in accordance with the approved lifting plans, Qatar Energy requirements, and international standards. Key Responsibilities: Supervision of Lifting Operations: Supervise and coordinate all lifting operations on site, ensuring adherence to approved lifting plans and risk assessments. Ensure that lifting crew (crane operators, riggers, signalmen) are competent and aware of the lifting procedure. Inspect lifting tools and equipment before and after operations to ensure safe condition and valid certifications. Conduct pre-lift meetings and toolbox talks to communicate job-specific hazards and responsibilities. Safety & Compliance: Ensure all lifting activities comply with site HSE requirements, Qatar Energy PTS & lifting procedures, and international codes (e.g., LOLER, BS 7121). Stop any lifting activity that poses a safety risk or deviates from the approved plan. Support the implementation of Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems related to lifting activities. Report incidents, near misses, or unsafe conditions immediately and assist in investigations. Coordination & Communication: Coordinate closely with the Lifting Engineer, site engineers, and HSE personnel. Communicate effectively with the crane operators and rigging team using standard hand signals and radios. Ensure proper positioning of lifting equipment and exclusion zones during operations. Maintain daily records of lifting activities and equipment use. Documentation: Ensure availability and validity of lifting plans, method statements, and checklists on site. Keep records of inspections, maintenance, and certifications of lifting tools and machinery. Assist in preparing reports related to lifting activities, if required. Qualifications: Diploma or Trade Certification in Mechanical or Civil Engineering (preferred). Valid Lifting Supervisor Certificate from a recognized training body. Minimum 5–7 years of experience in lifting operations, with at least 3–5 years in Qatar or GCC. Good knowledge of different types of cranes, lifting gear, rigging techniques, and safety procedures. Familiar with Qatar Energy lifting requirements and industry best practices. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Physically fit and able to work in demanding site environments. Desired Candidate Profile .
