Liferay Developer

Job Description Roles & Responsibilities Job Description We are looking for an experienced Liferay Developer with 5+ years of hands-on experience to design, develop, and maintain enterprise portal solutions built on the Liferay DXP/Portal platform. The ideal candidate will have strong Java development skills combined with deep expertise in Liferay's architecture, plugin/module development, and portal customization.This role is based in Egypt, working remotely to support the organization's operations and systems in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). Key Responsibilities • Design, develop, and customize Liferay portals, portlets, themes, and layout templates • Develop and maintain custom Liferay modules using OSGi framework • Integrate Liferay with third-party systems and APIs (REST/SOAP) • Customize Liferay Service Builder for entity/data model creation • Work on user authentication, SSO integration (SAML/LDAP/OAuth) • Optimize portal performance, scalability, and security • Upgrade/migrate Liferay versions (e.g., 6.x/7.x to DXP) as needed • Collaborate with UI/UX designers to implement responsive front-end themes • Write clean, well-documented, and testable code following best practices • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues within SLAs • Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and technical design discussions • Prepare technical documentation for developed modules and workflows Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field • 5+ years of overall software development experience, with at least 3+ years dedicated to Liferay • Strong proficiency in Java, JSP, Servlets, and Spring Framework • Hands-on experience with Liferay Portal/DXP (7.x preferred), OSGi modules, Service Builder, and Liferay APIs • Experience with front-end technologies: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, AngularJS/React (preferred) • Familiarity with Elasticsearch/Solr for search customization • Experience with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle) • Knowledge of Liferay theme and layout template development (FreeMarker/Velocity) • Experience with build tools like Maven/Gradle and version control (Git) • Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills • Liferay Certified Developer certification • Experience with Docker/Kubernetes for Liferay deployment • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI) • Knowledge of headless APIs and Liferay's GraphQL support Desired Candidate Profile Company Industry IT - Software Services Department / Functional Area IT Software Keywords Liferay Developer Get real-time job updates only on our App
