Kitchen Equipment Electrician

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Electrician & Facilities Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and commercial kitchen equipment, as well as performing basic plumbing repairs.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in commercial food service environments (restaurants, catering, or hotels) and can handle general maintenance to keep our operations running smoothly and safely.

Key Responsibilities

• Electrical Maintenance & Repair
• Inspect, test, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems, wiring, distribution panels, and fixtures.
• Ensure all electrical work complies with local safety standards and building codes.
• Diagnose electrical faults in machinery and resolve power issues efficiently.
• Kitchen Equipment Maintenance
• Perform preventive maintenance, diagnosis, and repair on commercial kitchen equipment, including:
• Heating/Cooking: Ovens, fryers, grills, hot holding cabinets, ranges.
• Refrigeration/Cooling: Walk-in coolers, freezers, ice machines (preferred).
• Dishwashers, mixers, slicers, and food processing machines.
• Maintain equipment logs and schedule regular routine servicing to minimize downtime.
• Basic Plumbing Tasks
• Troubleshoot and repair minor plumbing issues, including leaking pipes, clogged drains, faucets, and water lines connected to kitchen equipment.
• Install and maintain water connections for dishwashers, ice machines, and sinks.
• Assist with basic drainage and grease trap maintenance when needed.
• General Maintenance & Safety
• Perform routine safety inspections across the facility.
• Maintain inventory of common spare parts, electrical components, and maintenance supplies.
• Respond promptly to urgent maintenance requests to ensure minimal disruption to kitchen operations.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education/Certification: Diploma or Vocational Training in Electrical Engineering, Technical Trades, or Certified Electrician license.
• Experience:
• 3+ years of experience as an electrician or maintenance technician in a commercial setting.
• Proven experience repairing commercial kitchen/catering equipment.
• Practical knowledge of basic plumbing repairs and pipe fitting.
• Skills:
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and equipment manuals.
• Knowledge of occupational health and safety standards.
• Attributes: Strong work ethic, ability to work independently, and flexibility to respond to urgent repairs outside normal hours if required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience working in catering facilities, hotel kitchens, or restaurants.
• Basic knowledge of HVAC or commercial refrigeration systems.
