Desired Candidate Profile

Overview We are seeking an energetic, fast-learning Full-Stack Web Developer to lead the modernization of legacy VB.NET and ASP.NET web applications, with a focus on bringing deployment practices and software architecture up to current best practices. This role is critical to improving deployment automation, enhancing maintainability, and introducing modern, secure software engineering practices within a historically legacy technology environment. The ideal candidate thrives in environments where technical initiative is needed. You will be responsible for rebuilding legacy components into a modern, testable .NET stack, enhancing IIS based deployments for on-premise customers, and contributing to DevOps maturity. You will also work with a MultiValue (UniVerse) backend, including RedBack interface layers, and will help establish secure and scalable patterns for the future Qualifications 3 5+ years of experience in web development using ASP.NET / VB.NET / C# Strong command of modern Microsoft stack technologies: .NET 6/7+, MVC, Razor Pages, Web APIs Solid grasp of DevOps practices, including: Automated builds and deployments Source control using Git / GitHub IIS configuration and deployment for on-prem environments Demonstrated experience with separation of concerns, multi-tier architectures, and clean code principles Strong understanding of security best practices, including input validation, authentication, and secure deployment patterns Comfortable maintaining and modernizing legacy codebases, including refactoring toward testable, maintainable patterns Familiarity with SQL Server, database version control, and schema evolution - this is a MV company, but SQL still valuable for long-term Comfortable operating in Agile/Lean environments with minimal handholding and high initiative Bonus Experience with RedBack or Rocket UniVerse / MultiValue platforms Prior work modernizing on-premise legacy systems into cloud-native, SaaS-ready architectures Experience creating or maintaining internal DevOps playbooks Exposure to CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Octopus Deploy, or similar Knowledge of modern frontend tooling: Blazor, TypeScript, Vue, or React (even in hobby projects) Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) or scripting deployment environments
