HVAC Site Engineer

The HVAC Site Engineer is responsible for supervising, coordinating, and managing HVAC installation activities at the construction site. The role involves ensuring that HVAC works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, project schedules, quality standards, and applicable codes and regulations. Key Responsibilities Supervise day-to-day HVAC installation activities at the project site. Review and interpret HVAC drawings, specifications, equipment schedules, and approved shop drawings. Coordinate HVAC works with architectural, structural, electrical, plumbing, fire fighting, and other MEP disciplines. Ensure HVAC installations are carried out as per approved drawings, project specifications, and method statements. Monitor installation of: Ductwork and insulation Chilled water piping Refrigerant piping HVAC equipment AHUs, FCUs, FAHUs, and ventilation fans VAV/CAV systems Grilles, diffusers, and louvers Pumps and associated equipment Controls and BMS interfaces Conduct site inspections and ensure proper workmanship and installation quality. Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and other site teams. Prepare and follow up on material inspections, inspection requests, and work inspections. Monitor material deliveries and verify that materials comply with approved submittals. Identify site problems, technical issues, and clashes and coordinate appropriate solutions. Assist in reviewing and resolving RFIs, technical queries, and drawing discrepancies. Monitor HVAC installation progress against the approved project schedule. Prepare daily and weekly progress reports as required. Ensure proper testing, flushing, pressure testing, duct leakage testing, and commissioning activities are completed. Coordinate HVAC testing and commissioning with the commissioning team and consultant. Assist in preparing as-built drawings and project handover documentation. Ensure compliance with project HSE requirements and site safety procedures. Attend site coordination meetings and provide technical updates on HVAC activities. Monitor manpower, productivity, and subcontractor performance. Ensure proper housekeeping and safe working practices within HVAC work areas. Technical Responsibilities Check HVAC quantities and installation against approved drawings and BOQ. Verify duct dimensions, pipe sizes, equipment locations, supports, insulation, and access requirements. Ensure proper installation of HVAC supports, hangers, vibration isolators, flexible connections, dampers, valves, and accessories. Coordinate equipment installation with electrical power and control requirements. Review HVAC shop drawings and coordinate necessary site modifications. Assist with equipment start-up, testing, balancing, and commissioning. Ensure HVAC systems are ready for consultant inspection and final handover. Quality Control Ensure HVAC works comply with approved Quality Inspection Checklists (ITPs/IRs). Conduct pre-inspections before consultant/client inspections. Monitor workmanship and rectify non-conforming works. Verify approved materials are used at site. Coordinate testing and inspection activities with the QA/QC Engineer. Maintain proper records of inspections, test results, and approvals. Health, Safety & Environment Follow all project HSE policies, procedures, and requirements. Ensure HVAC activities are performed using approved method statements and risk assessments. Identify and report unsafe conditions and practices. Ensure workers use appropriate PPE and follow site safety procedures. Coordinate with the HSE team for permits and safe execution of high-risk activities.

Desired Candidate Profile

Qualifications Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. Mechanical Engineering qualification with specialization or experience in HVAC/MEP is preferred. Relevant professional certifications are an advantage. Experience 3–7 years of relevant experience in HVAC/MEP construction projects. Experience in commercial buildings, residential towers, hotels, hospitals, industrial facilities, or other major construction projects is preferred. Experience working with MEP contractors and consultants is an advantage. Employment Type Full-time
