Health Information Management Expert
Job Description Roles & Responsibilities Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of national eHealth information management strategies and governance frameworks. Establish and enforce data governance policies, including health data standards, coding systems, interoperability frameworks, and data exchange protocols. Design and oversee processes for the collection, storage, validation, retrieval, and analysis of electronic health information. Ensure the accuracy, integrity, confidentiality, and security of healthcare data in compliance with privacy regulations and policy governance requirements. Collaborate with healthcare providers, government agencies, and technology vendors to promote adoption and effective utilization of eHealth systems. Drive standardization of health information formats and interoperability practices to enable seamless data sharing across healthcare platforms. Analyze health information exchange (HIE) and other healthcare system data to generate national reports, performance insights, and public health analytics. Support evidence-based decision-making through data modeling, analytics, visualization, and reporting initiatives. Develop and deliver training programs for healthcare professionals on health information management best practices, coding standards, and data security awareness. Contribute to policy development and strategic planning related to health information management, digital health transformation, and data governance. Promote public awareness and stakeholder engagement initiatives to strengthen trust in eHealth systems, particularly regarding data privacy and cybersecurity. Monitor emerging healthcare informatics trends, regulatory changes, and technological advancements to enhance health information strategies. Provide expert guidance on healthcare data usage, system integration, and information management optimization. Perform additional duties related to health information governance, strategy execution, and organizational objectives as assigned. Desired Candidate Profile The Health Information Management Expert is responsible for driving the strategic planning, implementation, and governance of national eHealth information systems and policies. The role focuses on ensuring the accuracy, security, interoperability, and effective utilization of electronic health data to support healthcare delivery, public health decision-making, and policy development. This position leads data governance initiatives, promotes standardized coding and data exchange frameworks, and collaborates with healthcare stakeholders, government entities, and technology partners to enhance health information management practices. The expert also supports data analytics, reporting, and capacity-building initiatives while ensuring compliance with privacy regulations and strengthening trust in digital health ecosystems. Job Requirements Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Management, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field. 15+ years of progressive experience in healthcare informatics or health information management. Proven expertise in data analysis, modeling, and visualization tools. Deep understanding of healthcare systems, national health data standards, and industry practices. Knowledge of relevant software applications used in health information systems. Strong awareness of economic, social, and political factors influencing healthcare data use. Familiarity with privacy laws, regulations, and policy governance frameworks. Excellent analytical, strategic assessment, and communication skills.
