Head of Construction

Job Description Roles & Responsibilities Oversee the planning, preparation and execution of onshore fabrication activities from yard execution through load-out. Manage the execution of Compression Platform Complex fabrication scope while ensuring Safety, Quality and Schedule objectives are achieved. Supervise and control Contractor/Subcontractor activities related to topsides fabrication and Mechanical Completion. Review constructability and technical compliance of engineering deliverables against project requirements and applicable standards. Monitor construction progress and quality, identify critical issues or deviations, and recommend corrective actions. Coordinate with Contractors/Subcontractors on Mechanical Completion, Pre-commissioning and Commissioning activities. Review contractor progress reports and highlight critical problems, schedule drifts and execution issues. Lead and participate in Risk Assessments, Pre-Job Meetings and technical meetings as required. Maintain effective interfaces between Company, Contractor and Engineering teams to resolve construction and execution issues. Capture and implement lessons learned from previous and current projects to improve construction execution. Desired Candidate Profile Bachelor’s Degree in Science or Engineering. Minimum 10 years of experience in large-scale Oil & Gas construction-related projects. Minimum 2 years of supervisory/leadership experience, including acting roles or oversight of service/vendor personnel. Strong experience in construction, fabrication, installation, execution, completion and/or hook-up. Good knowledge of fabrication, welding, lifting, mechanical testing and completions. Experience with topsides fabrication, Mechanical Completion and construction execution. Strong Contractor/Subcontractor management and project interface experience. Knowledge of constructability, project execution procedures, field management, design standards, specifications and applicable codes. Experience/exposure to onshore facilities, offshore facilities/structures and/or yard operations. Knowledge of execution methods and risks associated with LNG and sour gas production facilities. Experience working with Oil & Gas operating companies, EPC contractors, service companies or heavy construction companies. Candidates with experience in major Oil & Gas operating companies or leading EPC/fabrication contractors will be preferred.
