Facilities Engineer

Job Description Roles & Responsibilities Perform ongoing preventive maintenance and repair work on the project: mechanical, electrical, and other installed systems. Maintain and operate all HVAC systems and associated equipment, electrical equipment, plumbing systems, building management systems, and building repairs. Perform facility inspections and report on conditions affecting operations. Respond to emergencies. Prepare and submit summary reports of conditions in buildings and recommend actions to be taken. Review and understand equipment and methods of operation, BMS system, fire/life safety, and other systems. Comply with all safety procedures and requirements. Provide technical input and review of Standard Operating Procedures. Work in a cross functional environment and interact with team members from various disciplines. Interface with Operations Field staff, Environment Health & Safety, Operations Management, and local regulatory agencies. Simultaneously manage multiple projects of varying complexity. Provide technical support to the project on all Facilities Systems. Own the development, implementation and monitoring of policies, procedures and protocols for the Facilities services (including Permit to Work System and Emergency Procedures). Plan, coordinate and supervise in house staff, consultants and specialist service contractors on the building services. Carry out manual planned and reactive maintenance on all MEP assets and systems within the client’s facility. Carry out risk assessments and develop Method Statements to ensure all operatives and tasks are carried out safely. Develop and deliver a training matrix of basic maintenance skills to support the development of Technicians. Develop and ensure delivery of regular tool box talks to the technical team. Perform other works as directed by their line manager from time to time. Ensure unsafe acts or conditions are reported. Follow health and safety instructions and guidance as advised by top management. Participate in accidents/incidents and near misses campaigns and take corrective actions as applicable. Report all injuries that happen at work. Ensure appropriate Personal Protective Equipment are worn as applicable. Adhere to health and safety procedures. Stop or take appropriate actions in case of HSE violations/Unsafe acts. Co-operate with supervisor/line manager on health and safety. Contribute towards Don’t Walk By / Target Zero / SAG implementation. Follow emergency preparedness plan and procedures. Take reasonable care of health and safety of self and others. Maintain tools and equipment in a clean and safe condition. Ensure not under the influence of intoxicants that affect work safety. Ensure proper conduct to prevent endangering safety or health. Participate in the company’s safety program. Participate in TBTs, briefing sessions, and role-play acts. Desired Candidate Profile Hands on experience with electrical, mechanical, water and pneumatic systems. Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings. Familiarity with gas storage systems, facility safety and building fire safety systems. Demonstrated ability to interface with multiple teams and regulatory agencies. Ability to manage multiple projects of varying complexity. Ability to develop and deliver training and toolbox talks.
