Estimation & Technical Office Engineer - Landscape & Irrigation

Review tender invitations, contracts, drawings, specifications, bills of quantities, scope documents, submission requirements, deadlines, and commercial risks. Prepare detailed quantity take-offs for soil works, planting, trees, shrubs, turf, irrigation systems, hardscape, and related items. Check client bills of quantities and identify omissions, conflicts, and discrepancies between drawings, specifications, and quantities. Prepare technical queries, requests for clarification, and a documented register of assumptions and exclusions before final pricing. Build unit rates covering materials, plants, labor, equipment, logistics, waste, subcontractors, and indirect costs. Obtain and compare supplier, nursery, and subcontractor quotations technically and commercially; negotiate terms and document validity and conditions. Allow for plant availability, sizes, source, seasonality, loss, acclimatization, transportation, and initial maintenance. Price irrigation systems based on components, pressures, water sources, controls, testing, and commissioning, and verify the proposed solution against requirements. Calculate direct and indirect costs, overheads, contingencies, and profit margins, and submit the recommended final price for approval. Benchmark against historical and market data, conduct sensitivity and risk analysis, and propose value-engineering options without compromising specifications. Prepare technical and commercial proposals, pricing schedules, methodology, preliminary programs, material lists, vendor lists, and all required attachments. Verify submission compliance and completeness, meet deadlines, and retain an approved archive of all documents and correspondence. Prepare a management summary covering price, cost, margin, assumptions, exclusions, risks, and negotiation points. Maintain searchable databases of prices, suppliers, subcontractors, productivity rates, and historical project costs. Prepare and review landscape and irrigation shop drawings and coordinate with civil, architectural, electrical, and utility drawings. Prepare material and plant submittals, method statements, inspection and test plans, and RFIs, and follow up consultant and client comments. Price variations and additional works using verified quantities, drawings, site records, and contractual support. Compare estimated quantities and costs with actual project results, support cost control, and record lessons for future tenders. Support site teams with coordination details, technical solutions, as-built updates, and handover documentation when required.

Proven capability in quantity take-off, rate analysis, tender preparation, and commercial comparison. Proficiency in Excel and AutoCAD, with the ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
