Engineer (Scada / Instrumentation)

Job Description Roles & Responsibilities Design, implement, and maintain SCADA systems for real-time monitoring and control of industrial processes, ensuring optimal performance and data integrity. Configure, calibrate, and troubleshoot a wide range of instrumentation, including sensors, transmitters, and control valves, to guarantee accurate measurements and reliable operation. Develop and execute PLC/DCS logic and programming to automate industrial processes, ensuring seamless integration with SCADA systems. Perform regular system diagnostics, performance analysis, and preventative maintenance on SCADA and instrumentation hardware and software to minimize downtime. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, maintenance, and IT, to define system requirements, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions. Generate detailed reports on system performance, alarm analysis, and operational efficiency, providing insights for continuous improvement. Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and cybersecurity best practices for all SCADA and instrumentation systems. Manage vendor relationships and evaluate new technologies to enhance SCADA and instrumentation capabilities. Develop and deliver training to operations and maintenance personnel on SCADA system operation and instrumentation principles. Participate in project planning, budgeting, and execution for SCADA and instrumentation upgrades and new installations. Desired Candidate Profile Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related field. Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification is highly desirable. Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in SCADA system design, implementation, and maintenance within the oil & gas, power generation, or manufacturing sectors. Proficiency in PLC/DCS programming languages (e.g., Ladder Logic, Structured Text) and SCADA software platforms (e.g., Wonderware, Ignition, Rockwell FactoryTalk). Strong understanding of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, OPC UA, Ethernet/IP) and networking principles. Expertise in calibrating and troubleshooting various instrumentation devices (e.g., pressure, temperature, flow, level transmitters). Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a meticulous attention to detail. Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously under pressure. Willingness to travel occasionally and work flexible hours as needed for critical system support.
