Electrical Engineer / Sr. Engineer – Genset Projects

Prepare and study technical drawings, specifications of Electrical & Mechanical systems related to Power plants (Diesel / Gas), to ensure that installation and operations conform to Manufacturer’s recommended standards and customer requirements. Direct and Coordinate with Customers for Construction & Installation support, documentation, and testing activities to ensure compliance with the agreed specifications and customer requirements. Perform detailed calculations for Panel design / cable ratings etc related to Diesel / Gas Power Plant/s (415V / 11kV / 33kV) to comply with the standards and specifications. Independently handle project execution to assure projects are completed satisfactorily, on time and within budget. Develop budgets, estimate labor, material, and construction costs for the given projects / jobs. Inspect completed installations and observe operations, to ensure conformity to design & equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards. Prepare specifications for purchase of materials and equipment required for the respective jobs / projects. Supervise and train Project team members as per the required necessity. Organise for Factory Acceptance tests & Site acceptance tests to the satisfaction of the Client / Consultants in line with the agreed specifications. Investigate and test vendor’s products (like Panels / Transformers etc) at Vendor’s premises. Investigate customer complaints related to Installations, determine nature and extent of problem, and recommend remedial measures. Compile data and write progress reports regarding existing projects and compile handing over documents / drawings etc. of the completed projects. Conduct pre tender site visits in coordination with the sales engineer/s to ascertain the technical / commercial requirements.

Desired Candidate Profile

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering. 6–10 years of relevant experience in Diesel/Gas Power Plants, Genset Projects, Power Generation or Electrical Project Engineering. Strong experience in project execution, electrical installation, testing and commissioning. Practical knowledge of 415V / 11kV / 33kV electrical systems. Experience with LV/MV switchgear, electrical panels, transformers, cables, protection systems and power distribution systems. Experience in FAT, SAT, commissioning and customer/consultant inspections. Ability to read and interpret SLDs, electrical schematics, cable schedules, panel drawings and technical specifications. Experience in preparing electrical calculations, material specifications and project documentation. Experience coordinating with customers, consultants, contractors and vendors.
