Job Description Roles & Responsibilities About the Role As a Senior Developer at FlairsTech, you will be a hands-on technical leader within the engineering team that builds our AI-powered call-receptionist platform for restaurants. You'll design and build scalable, secure systems across our TypeScript/Next.js frontend, Python services, and AWS infrastructure taking features from technical design through implementation, release, and production monitoring. You'll combine deep technical expertise with strong collaboration skills, setting the engineering bar for the team, mentoring peers, and driving continuous improvement in code quality, architecture, and delivery practices. What You'll Do Hands-On Development & Architecture - Design, build, and maintain features across our TypeScript/Next.js frontend, Python services, and AWS infrastructure (Lambda, ECS, API Gateway, CloudWatch, etc.) - Own the technical design for complex features and projects, from proposal through implementation and production monitoring - Write clean, well-tested, maintainable code and set the technical bar for the team Code Quality & Engineering Standards - Lead code-review practices and enforce automated testing (unit, integration, e2e) - Uphold SOC 2 requirements in day-to-day engineering work - Identify and address technical debt, performance bottlenecks, and scalability risks before they become production issues Internal Operational Systems - Build and maintain the tooling and integrations that power customer support, billing, onboarding, and account-management workflows (e.g., Intercom, Stripe, subscription management, usage metering) - Partner with Support and Finance leads to translate process pain points into elegant, automated solutions, instrument KPIs (CSAT, first-reply time, invoice accuracy), and iterate for continuous improvement Operational Excellence & DevOps - Improve CI/CD pipelines and observability dashboards (Sentry, CloudWatch); participate in on-call rotation to help maintain 99.9% uptime - Drive performance, cost-optimization, and security hardening across services Mentorship & Collaboration - Mentor and pair with other engineers, giving actionable code-review feedback and helping onboard new teammates technically - Collaborate closely with the Dev Manager and Product on roadmap planning, providing technical input, effort estimates, and architectural tradeoffs - Foster a culture of ownership and continuous learning by example Bonus Points For - Experience with AI products, speech technology, or voice agents - Prior involvement in SOC 2, PCI-DSS, or other compliance initiatives - DevOps chops (Terraform, Kubernetes, GitHub Actions) and performance-tuning expertise - Familiarity with observability stacks (OpenTelemetry, Datadog) and cost-optimization strategies Desired Candidate Profile What You Bring - Technical Depth: 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with hands-on expertise in modern web stacks (TypeScript/React/Next.js), Python backend services, cloud architecture (AWS), and microservices - Architecture & Design: Proven ability to independently design and deliver complex, scalable systems end-to-end, and make sound technical tradeoffs - Process Fluency: Comfortable operating within agile/Scrum or Kanban frameworks, contributing to sprint planning and backlog grooming - Operational Systems Fluency: Experience automating support, billing, or similar back-office workflows via SaaS integrations and custom tooling - Communication Skills: Ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical teammates and stakeholders - Analytical & Strategic Thinking: Data-driven approach to prioritization and continuous improvement - Mentorship & Empathy: Passion for coaching engineers, giving actionable feedback, and contributing to an inclusive, high-trust team - Adaptability: Comfort navigating ambiguity and changing priorities inherent to a high-growth startup Company Industry IT - Software Services Department / Functional Area IT Software Keywords Development Manager Get real-time job updates only on our App
