D365 F&O Technical Consultant

Objectives and Desired Outcomes The objective of this engagement is to provide dedicated Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O) functional, techno-functional, and technical resources for an initial period of four (4) months, extendable based on business requirements, to support EIFM's ongoing application enhancements, module enablement, integrations, reporting, and operational requirements. The engagement will include one D365 F&O Functional Consultant, one D365 F&O Techno-Functional Consultant, and one D365 F&O Technical Consultant/Developer, with combined expertise across Finance, Project Management & Accounting, Supply Chain Management/Inventory, integrations, reporting, and Power Platform technologies. Scope The scope covers D365 F&O functional, technical, and techno-functional resource augmentation to support ongoing enhancements and implementation requirements across Finance, Project Management & Accounting, and SCM/Inventory. The resources will support business requirement analysis, solution design, configuration, customization, integrations, reporting, testing, deployment, and production support. The scope also includes Power BI/Power Platform development, process automation, system integrations, and D365 technical enhancements, including Copilot/AI capabilities where applicable. The resources will work closely with business and IT teams to deliver continuous improvements, resolve operational gaps, and support evolving business requirements. D365 F&O Technical Consultant The resource should have strong hands-on technical expertise (more than 5 years’ experience) in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations, with proven experience in designing, developing, integrating, deploying, and supporting enterprise-level D365 F&O solutions.

Desired Candidate Profile

Key technical competencies should include: Strong development experience using X++, extensions, event handlers, Chain of Command, custom services and framework-based development. Development and customization of forms, tables, classes, queries, views, data entities, workflows, batch jobs and business logic. Strong understanding of D365 F&O development best practices, including extension-based customization and avoiding over-layering. Experience in designing and developing system integrations using REST APIs, OData, custom services, data entities, Azure integration services and middleware platforms. Hands-on knowledge of inbound and outbound integrations, including synchronous and asynchronous interface patterns. Experience with Data Management Framework (DMF), data entities, recurring integrations, data imports/exports and migration activities. Strong understanding of D365 security architecture, including roles, duties, privileges and segregation of duties considerations. Experience in workflow development and customization, approvals, notifications and business process automation. Development and troubleshooting of batch jobs, scheduled processes and performance-intensive transactions. Strong reporting experience using SSRS, Electronic Reporting, Power BI and D365 embedded reporting. Hands-on experience with Power BI development, including datasets, semantic models, DAX, Power Query, data modelling and report performance optimization. Good working knowledge of Power Platform, including Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse and integration between Power Platform and D365 F&O. Experience in Dataverse/Dual-write integration and synchronization between D365 F&O and other Dynamics 365/Power Platform applications. Hands-on knowledge of LCS, Azure DevOps, source control, build pipelines, release management and deployment processes. Experience in managing and supporting DEV, UAT, Sandbox and Production environments, including code deployment, package management and environment refreshes. Ability to perform technical troubleshooting, debugging, performance analysis and root-cause analysis across D365 F&O and integrated systems. Knowledge of database structures, SQL concepts, performance tuning and data troubleshooting. Experience in supporting Finance, Project Management & Accounting, SCM and Inventory-related technical developments, particularly customizations that impact financial postings and transactional processes. Ability to prepare technical design documents, integration specifications, data mapping documents and deployment documentation. Exposure to Copilot, Copilot Studio and AI Agent development, including integration with Dynamics 365, Power Platform and enterprise data sources, would be preferred. · Good understanding of Azure services such as Logic Apps, Functions, Service Bus, API Management and related integration components is desirable.
