CSSD Technician

Job Description Roles & Responsibilities Washes and decontaminates used instruments and equipment by following prescribed techniques. Processes and maintains sterile instruments and surgical sets by adhering to adequacy of sets and correct handling techniques. Collects and distributes items to and from the units in a timely manner and correctly documents any shortage problems. Reports any problems to the CSSD In Charge. Keeps work area and equipment clean. Performs other applicable tasks and duties within the realm of his/her knowledge, skills and abilities as directed by the CSSD In-Charge. Comply with all OSH and infection control policies, standards and procedures and cooperate with hospital management to comply those requirements Work accordance with the documented OSH procedures and instructions, specific responsibilities Be familiar with emergency and evacuation procedures Notifying OSH Hazards, incidents, Near misses and issues and assistance with the preparation of risk assessments, incident reports Comply with Waste management procedures and policies Attend applicable OSH/Infection control training programs, mock drills and awareness programs Use of appropriate personal protective equipment and safety systems Desired Candidate Profile Valid DOH/DHA License as CSSD Technician in UAE. Bachelors / Diploma in Medical Sterilization Management and Operation Theatre Technology. Min 3-4 Years experience from Multispecialty Hospital Facility post qualification. Home country registration as CSSD Technician from a recognized regulatory authority. Must be fluent in spoken and written English, Arabic speaking desirable but not essential. Demonstrate the ability to work with minimal supervision. Demonstrates a motivation to work in a health care environment. Demonstrate the ability to work in cordial conditions within a group practice in a hospital setting and as a member of a team.
