Civil Planning Engineer
Job Description Roles & Responsibilities The Planning Engineer will be responsible for project planning scheduling monitoring and reporting activities to ensure successful project delivery within approved timelines and budgets. The role requires close coordination with project management engineering procurement and construction teams to develop realistic schedules track progress and identify potential delays or risks. Develop detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 or equivalent planning software. Prepare baseline programmes recovery programmes and revised project schedules as required. Monitor project progress and compare actual performance against planned targets. Identify schedule risks delays and critical path activities and recommend corrective actions. Prepare weekly monthly and ad hoc progress reports for management clients and consultants. Coordinate with engineering procurement and construction teams to obtain progress updates and project data. Track manpower equipment and material utilization against project requirements. Assist in the preparation and evaluation of project claims extensions of time and variation related schedules. Participate in project meetings and provide schedule related analysis and recommendations. Prepare project dashboards progress curves manpower histograms and performance reports. Ensure all planning and reporting activities comply with contractual requirements and project objectives. Support project management in forecasting completion dates and resource requirements. Desired Candidate Profile Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering Mechanical Engineering Electrical Engineering Construction Management or a related discipline. Minimum 5 to 8 years of experience in project planning and scheduling within construction EPC industrial or infrastructure projects. Strong proficiency in Primavera P6 is mandatory. Good knowledge of project controls scheduling methodologies and progress measurement techniques. Experience in preparing and maintaining baseline schedules and recovery programmes. Strong analytical and problem solving skills with attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Microsoft Project and other reporting tools. Ability to interpret engineering drawings specifications and project contracts. Excellent communication and coordination skills. Experience working on large scale EPC projects is preferred. UAE experience is preferred. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
