CAPEX Engineer

Job Title: CAPEX Engineer Job Purpose: Responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing capital expenditure (CAPEX) projects from initial concept through completion. The role ensures projects are delivered safely, within approved budgets and timelines, and in compliance with company standards and requirements. Key Responsibilities Identify, evaluate, and develop CAPEX project proposals based on operational and business requirements. Prepare project budgets, cost estimates, business cases, and capital expenditure requests. Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Finance, Operations, and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. Prepare and review technical specifications, drawings, scopes of work, and tender documents. Manage contractors, consultants, suppliers, and project teams to ensure timely project execution. Monitor project costs, schedules, progress, and performance against approved CAPEX budgets. Review quotations and support the procurement and tendering process. Ensure all projects comply with company policies, HSE requirements, engineering standards, and applicable regulations. Conduct site inspections and monitor construction, installation, commissioning, and handover activities. Identify project risks and implement appropriate corrective and preventive actions. Review invoices, variation orders, and payment certificates against approved work and contracts. Maintain accurate project documentation, reports, and CAPEX records. Prepare regular project status reports for management. Support project close-out, including final documentation, asset handover, and budget reconciliation. Identify opportunities for cost savings, efficiency improvements, and optimization of existing assets.

Desired Candidate Profile

Key Skills & Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or a related discipline. Experience in CAPEX project management, engineering, construction, or facilities management. Strong knowledge of project planning, budgeting, procurement, and cost control. Ability to read and review technical drawings and specifications. Good knowledge of HSE and quality requirements. Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder-management skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools. Experience with ERP systems such as SAP is an advantage.
