Description
SAIC is seeking an Electrical Technician - Cable Fabrication to join our team in Huntsville, AL.
The selected candidate will be a member of a highly motivated team providing hardware/software development, integration, and test support to the Systems Simulation, Software, and Integration (S3I) Directorate.
Job Responsibilities
Activities will include support of development, testing, and integration of special purpose electronics and cabling of launch vehicles, communications platforms, and rocket systems
Perform circuit design, analysis, simulation and component selection according to electrical/electronic hardware requirements
Perform initial build of prototype printed circuit board (PCB) assemblies
Build complex tactical cables with heat shrink jackets
Apply basic electronics engineering knowledge and practical experience in one or more of the following areas:
Cable/Harness Assembly to Class 3
Prototype layout and assembly of boards
Assemble quick turn test assets
Familiar with Circular military connectors, wire and PCB components
Support all lab functions including military vehicle testing, building test assets, class 3 tactical cables, and precision measurement
Qualifications
Education Requirements
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related and two (2) years' experience; Six (6) years' of additional related work experience can be considered in lieu of degree (per contract vehicle)
Clearance Requirements
The candidate must possess a Secret security clearance or have the ability to obtain one; ship required
Required Skills
The candidate must have experience related in fabrication, repairing, and testing of electro-mechanical hardware (CCA's, wiring harnesses, cables, test fixtures, LRU's)
Must have a solid understanding of Electronics Theory and applications plus an ability to read and understand schematics
IPC and J-Standard certification a plus
Must have experience with SMT and PTH soldering and operation of basic test equipment such as meters and oscilloscopes
Experience with functional and environmental testing a plus
Tactical Cable building
Experience working with Microsoft Windows environment
Must be self-motivated and able to work with little or no supervision
