Budget & Planning Specialist – Cost Control (Airline/ Aviation)

Develop and maintain detailed departmental budgets, ensuring alignment with strategic organizational goals and operational needs. Monitor actual expenditures against budgeted amounts, identifying significant variances and investigating their root causes promptly. Implement and manage cost control measures and strategies to optimize resource allocation and minimize unnecessary spending. Prepare regular financial reports, including variance analysis and forecasts, to inform management decision-making. Collaborate with department heads to gather financial data, forecast future expenses, and ensure budget accuracy. Analyze spending patterns and identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements across the organization. Assist in the development of financial models and scenario planning to assess the impact of different business decisions on costs.

Desired Candidate Profile

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; Master's degree is a plus. Professional certification such as CMA, CPA, or FP&A is highly regarded. Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in budgeting, financial planning, and cost control. Proven experience in a specific industry (e.g., manufacturing, technology, healthcare) relevant to the company's operations. Proficiency in financial software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Anaplan) and advanced Excel skills for financial modeling and analysis.
