Broadcast Engineer - L2/L3 Support
Job Description Roles & Responsibilities Key Responsibilities ● Continuously monitor assigned live TV channel(s) in real time to identify content requiring censorship under organization rating and content guidelines. ● Execute censorship actions accurately and on time using the designated broadcast censorship platform — including audio muting/bleeping, video black, audio/video substitution, and pixelation/blurring with adjustable intensity and duration — without over-editing compliant content. ● Apply content rating thresholds correctly: leave lower-rated content (TV-PG/PG and below) untouched, and censor content above that threshold, plus a defined set of restricted content categories that must always be edited regardless of rating. ● Execute emergency censorship procedures when required, including cutting to a black screen or displaying a pre-built alert message. ● Flag and support adjustment of the Electronic Program Guide (EPG) whenever live editing introduces a broadcast delay. ● Apply seasonal content standards correctly during Ramadan, Hajj, and other special occasions. ● Maintain full attention and time-critical decision-making throughout each shift in a 24x7 live broadcast environment. ● Complete and submit accurate daily activity reports covering all channels monitored and any incidents encountered. ● Escalate technical issues or content queries to the on-duty Supervisor promptly. ● Support the team's target of zero unauthorized censorship actions. ● (Backup/Relief position) Provide flexible coverage across all shift patterns to fill leave, absence, or unplanned gaps in the roster. Required Qualifications & Experience The following are mandatory minimum requirements set by the client for this contract — candidates who do not meet these will not be eligible: ● Minimum 3 years of proven experience in broadcast operations, TV platform operations, or linear TV channel monitoring and censorship. ● Hands-on experience in live or near-live broadcast environments involving content censorship or moderation. ● Demonstrated familiarity with the EVS channel censoring system, Air Edit, Etere CensorMX, or an equivalent broadcast censorship / live time-delay platform. ● Willingness and ability to work rotating 24x7 shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays. ● Must be eligible to obtain a Qatar work visa and complete any security/background clearance required for the role. Desired Candidate Profile ● Direct hands-on experience specifically with Etere CensorMX or a comparable live-censorship/time-delay platform. ● Prior experience applying content guidelines in a culturally-sensitive broadcast market (Gulf/MENA region). ● Familiarity with V-Chip/MPAA-style TV and movie content rating systems.
