BOBCAT Operator

Job Description Roles & Responsibilities We are seeking a skilled and experienced Bobcat Operator (Skid Steer Loader) to safely and efficiently operate a skid steer loader for material handling, site preparation, grading, loading, backfilling, and general construction activities. The ideal candidate will have experience working on construction, infrastructure, landscaping, or earthworks projects and be committed to maintaining high standards of safety, productivity, and equipment care. Key responsibilities: Operate a Bobcat (Skid Steer Loader) safely and efficiently in accordance with project requirements. Perform site preparation, grading, leveling, backfilling, and material handling operations. Load, transport, and stockpile materials such as soil, sand, gravel, aggregate, and construction debris. Assist with site clearing, debris removal, and cleanup activities. Operate approved attachments such as buckets, forks, sweepers, augers, or breakers, where applicable. Load materials into trucks, hoppers, or designated storage areas. Conduct daily pre-start inspections and perform routine maintenance checks on the equipment and attachments. Report equipment faults, damage, or maintenance requirements promptly to the supervisor. Read and follow site plans, work instructions, and supervisor directions. Ensure compliance with all company safety policies, site regulations, and environmental requirements. Work closely with site supervisors, engineers, and ground personnel to complete assigned tasks safely and efficiently. Identify underground utilities, overhead hazards, and other site risks before commencing work. Maintain the Bobcat in a clean, safe, and serviceable condition. Complete daily equipment inspection checklists, logbooks, and work activity reports as required. Requirements Valid Heavy Equipment Operator License or Certification (as required by local regulations). Proven experience operating a Bobcat (Skid Steer Loader) or similar compact construction equipment. Good understanding of material handling, grading, and construction site operations. Ability to perform routine equipment inspections and basic preventive maintenance. Knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements on construction sites. Physically fit and able to work in varying weather conditions and demanding site environments. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Desired Candidate Profile Experience working on road, infrastructure, civil construction, landscaping, or earthworks projects. Experience operating multiple Bobcat attachments such as augers, breakers, pallet forks, sweepers, or trenchers. Knowledge of GPS and machine control systems is an advantage. Valid First Aid Certification is preferred. Clean driving record and experience operating additional heavy equipment are beneficial. Familiarity with Bobcat, Caterpillar (CAT), Case, JCB, or New Holland skid steer loaders is an advantage.
