Backend Developer

Job Description Roles & Responsibilities Responsibilities Build and maintain RESTful APIs and GraphQL endpoints for internal and external consumption. Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services using Kotlin and JVM technologies. Participate in system architecture design and implementation of scalable microservices. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate product requirements into technical solutions. Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code with proper documentation and unit tests. Implement security and data protection best practices. Optimize performance of services including database access and network communication. Monitor system health and troubleshoot issues in production environments. Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and team ceremonies. Desired Candidate Profile Bachelor s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. 2 4 years of experience in backend development, with a focus on Kotlin (or strong experience in Java with recent Kotlin adoption). Proficient in building RESTful APIs and working with Spring Boot, Ktor, or similar frameworks. Solid understanding of object-oriented and functional programming principles. Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB). Familiarity with tools like Docker, Git, and CI/CD pipelines. Good understanding of software engineering best practices including TDD and clean code. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Effective communication skills (written and verbal).
