Back-End Java Developer - Data as a Service (M/F)

Job Description Roles & Responsibilities Within the framework of scaling its software development activities in Tunisia, Questel is strengthening its Data as a Service (DaaS) team. This team is responsible for the integration and reconciliation of external data flows related to intellectual property on our platforms. The main objective is to build a unique data repository intended to feed our patent search engine, ranked among the world leaders in the field. Your daily life within the team: Within an Agile (Scrum) team and in close collaboration with Data Engineers and the Operations team, located in France and Tunisia, your missions will be to: Design and Propel: Develop and optimize robust data pipeline architectures (ETL) in Java and Spark, capable of processing massive volumes. Expose Data: Participate in the design and evolution of scalable REST APIs and Web Services for our SaaS solutions. Ensure Performance: Master and optimize our SQL queries against major data volumes (over 25 databases, several million records per database). Ensure Quality: Automate tests (unit, integration), participate in code reviews, and prepare continuous deployment (CI/CD) for the Ops team. Support Production: Participate in the operational maintenance (MCO) and continuous improvement of our components. The technical environment: Back-End: Java (8+), Spring Boot, Python Data & Search: Spark 3, Elasticsearch, Jupyter Storage: MySQL, MariaDB (Significant volume, multi-threading) DevOps & Tools: Git, GitLab CI, Maven, Docker, Jira Desired Candidate Profile You have at least 5 years of experience in Back-End Java development in environments with high data volumes. Multi-threading and SQL performance optimization hold no secrets for you. You are recognized for your rigor (Clean Code), your autonomy, and your ability to solve complex problems. The little extra: You already have experience with Spark, Elasticsearch, or containerization (Docker).
