Associate Director Building Services (Mechanical)

WSP in the Middle East is currently hiring a Specialist Mechanical Metro stations to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will own the end-to-end mechanical station fit-out design for rail/metro/train stations covering HVAC, environmental control, smoke control/TVS, stairwell/room pressurization, cooling of technical spaces, and integration with BMS/SCADA through concept, schematic, detailed/IFC, tender, and construction support. Lead the mechanical design and delivery of Building Services packages for Metro, Rail, and Transit infrastructure projects. Provide technical leadership across multidisciplinary design teams throughout all project stages. Drive design quality, innovation, and technical excellence across complex transportation programmes. Oversee project delivery, resource planning, and technical coordination. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and project partners. Support major bids, project pursuits, and business development activities. Mentor and develop engineers across the Mechanical and Building Services teams. Contribute to the continued growth of WSP's Metro & Rail Building Services capability across the Middle East.

Desired Candidate Profile

A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline. 15+ years of Building Services consultancy experience, including significant experience within Metro, Rail, or Transit projects. Proven experience leading the design and delivery of major transportation infrastructure programmes. Strong background in multidisciplinary design coordination and project leadership. Experience across design management, project delivery, and stakeholder engagement. Extensive Middle East project experience. Proven ability to manage client relationships and lead high-performing engineering teams. Chartered Engineer status or equivalent professional accreditation would be advantageous.
