Application Engineer

You will be working directly with clients developing solutions for their business as well as engaging in a continued learning path with Senior and Team Lead Engineers. The mentors and training resources provided at Avertra are intended to enable our Application Engineers to become Mendix Advanced certified and elevate their professional journey. Main Job

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement new software programs with Mendix
• Maintain and improve the performance of existing software
• Clearly and regularly communicate with management and technical support colleagues
• Design and update software data models
• Develop user-friendly and modern style UI. Test and maintain software products to ensure strong functionality and optimization
• Recommend improvements to existing software programs as necessary
• Pursue continued education and training in Mendix and other low code systems
• Mentor junior application engineers
• Perform code reviews for junior application engineers

Desired Candidate Profile

Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into development tasks. Adaptability to different project teams and applications. Ability to work independently and manage multiple task assignments. Ability to work within scheduled project timelines. Eagerness to learn and consume knowledge. Ability to work collaboratively in a creative Agile environment. Ability to communicate clearly in oral and written English. Strong troubleshooting, problem solving, issue resolution and communication skills. Ability to follow documented best practices.

Experience

At least 2 years of experience in the same field and Mendix Intermediate certification. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Must have experience with Mendix. Must have In-depth knowledge of web technologies, such as HTML and CSS. Must have working experience with building APIs and Services using REST, SOAP, etc. Must have working experience with Scrum/Agile development methodologies. Preferences: Javascript experience. .NET experience. React Native experience. Camunda or BPMN experience. Appian experience. CSS3 experience. Java experience. Sparks EA experience.

Education

Bacheloru2019s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Information Technology.
