AI Product Owner

Job Description Roles & Responsibilities We are looking for a strategic and technically minded AI Product Owner to lead the vision, roadmap, and execution of AI-powered features within our SaaS platform. You will bridge the gap between business objectives, customer needs, and data science and machine learning engineering teams. Your mission is to deliver intelligent, scalable features that create meaningful user value and drive business growth. Key Responsibilities Product Strategy and Roadmap Define and maintain the AI product roadmap in alignment with company OKRs, market trends, and customer feedback. Prioritize features that use machine learning, natural language processing, recommendation systems, and generative AI to solve real user problems. Backlog Management Write clear, actionable user stories and acceptance criteria for AI-powered features. Balance short-term delivery priorities with long-term research and experimentation. Support activities such as model A/B testing, prompt engineering, and iterative performance improvements. Cross-Functional Collaboration Act as the primary liaison between engineering, data science, design, marketing, and customer success teams. Translate technical model-performance metrics such as accuracy, latency, and drift into clear business-impact statements for stakeholders. Data-Driven Decision-Making Define measurable success metrics for AI features, including conversion lift, user engagement, and automation rates. Use product analytics and model-evaluation results to improve existing features and prioritize future enhancements. AI Ethics and Governance Ensure AI features are fair, transparent, and compliant with applicable data privacy regulations, including GDPR and CCPA. Champion responsible AI practices throughout the product lifecycle. Customer and Market Insights Conduct customer research, competitive analysis, and industry-trend monitoring to identify new AI opportunities. Partner with customer success teams to validate hypotheses through prototypes, proofs of concept, and MVPs. Release and Lifecycle Management Coordinate beta programs, feature flags, and gradual rollouts for AI models. Monitor post-launch performance and manage continuous model retraining, optimization, or fine-tuning cycles. Desired Candidate Profile At least three years of product ownership or product management experience within a SaaS company. Proven experience owning AI or machine learning features, such as recommendation engines, intelligent search, chatbots, or predictive analytics. Strong understanding of the machine learning lifecycle, model inference, and evaluation metrics such as precision, recall, AUC, and RMSE. Understanding of the trade-offs between model accuracy, performance, and latency. Ability to write technical user stories and communicate effectively with data scientists and engineers. Strong analytical skills, with experience using SQL, product analytics tools such as Amplitude or Mixpanel, and A/B testing frameworks. Excellent stakeholder-management, communication, and presentation skills. Nice-to-Have Qualifications Bachelor s or master s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field. Experience with generative AI, large language models, RAG, prompt engineering, and vector databases. Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies. Experience using Jira, Confluence, or similar product-management tools.
